I thought we needed a possible debate here.. these threads are honestly kinda boring. so Which do you think is better the Porsche 911 Turbo S or Nissan GTR?
I personally think the 911 turbo S is better just because it has merit and it can achieve acceleration that rivals the Bugatti Veyron all while carrying 2 adults and 2 children in leather-wrapped comfort.
You're thoughts?

I like both of these cars, but I must say Porsche. The GTR is too much of a "boy-racer's car" with all of it's technology and just the styling overall. The GTR is made to be too much of a racer than a daily driver/highway cruiser. The porsche wins because it can serve very well as a daily driver, and is just more versatile, because it can make a great driver, but take it to the track, it still dominates.

I say GTR. Yes, the Porsche is faster, but its also a hell of a lot more expensive, and I like the nice, techy things inside the GTR. And I'm just sick of the design of the Porsche. I know "if it ain't broke don't fix it," but still; Make at least some visual changes.

I put just those two because they are the big rivalry in the autoindustry.

Protip 1: Bugatti Veyron SS
Protip 2: That car costs in excess of 10x what the GTR costs and more than 5x what the Porsche costs. Waaaaay out of their league.

ohhhhh Bugatti hahaha nvm i totally know what that car is. And besides the GTR or 911 Turbo S would run circles around a Veryon SS on any racetrack (given the race track doenst have a long straight). The Bugatti is uber powerful but it cant handle as nimbly because of its weight.

Top Gear hasn't tested the Turbo S. Or the 2011 911 Turbo which are both faster and more nimble than the 2010 911 Turbo's they replace due to some retuning. I dont know for a fact that they could beat the Veyron SS but im pretty sure it could, not on all the tracks like i said, but im positive it could on a few. As it is the 911 Turbo is faster 0-60 than a Veyron, so it could out accelerate it on tight corners, because the Veryon's AWD has to deal with so much more power, it does power slide out of turns even with AWD, which will drop valuable seconds on tracks.

The 2011 GTR is an updated version of of the GTR it might not be a GTR2, but its more powerful, and the transmission has been redone to perform better. The new GTR should be coming out in a few years.

There is a GT-R V-Spec which is basically the GT-R with the seats removed and more carbon fibre.
I'm going with the GT-R though. I have always hated Porsche styling. If you're going to make all the cars have the same "look", at least do it right. (Aston Martin anyone?) I'm also a fan of the whole technology thing going on. It just feels like a proper car to me.

I can't argue with the Aston Martin's styling, a guy down my street has one and its just car porn lol. But with Porsche, it evolution not revolution, when it comes to their designs. And if you've seen the new 918 spyder you know that they can create sexy cars too, in fact i heard the 918 spyder could be the next movement in their design direction. Not to mention the next gen 911 is going to be longer, wider, lower, and more powerful than the one it will replace, and it will finally be a proper 2+2, so don't count out porsches styling just yet

I'd have the GTR simply because of the fact that the Porsche has the engine in the wrong place.

even with the engine in the "wrong place" they have made an almost perfect car that can handle the track and daily driving....

GTR hands down. The mods to the GTR are endless, it can be RWD or AWD, although it has a lot of new technology it still stands up to the standards of the skyline series. And plus we are living in 2011 not 1950 of course we are going to have more technology in a car
