Hey, I have always heard and seen filesharing sites, but I have never trusted them.
So, who uses filesharing, what site, and is it reliable?

That depends, are you talking about P2P networks like Limewire or torrenting? One is much safer than the other.

inb4 "it's illegal", torrents are supposed to be used for people to download open source software.

Yes, filesharing is a very efficient way of downloading files. I use it all the time do download Linux ISO's and such. It maximizes your download speeds if you have the right ports open on your router.

It maximizes your download speeds if you have the right ports open on your router. i'm no router expert, but aren't all ports always open on routers(except the really crappy ones)?

No.

I use Usenet, £10 a month for unlimited downloads and unlimited speed, tie that with BT infinity lines and you get about 49meg a second :O
