I tried shaving last night for the first time, and I have no idea if I did it right. I took away all of my pubic hair as it was becoming a nuisance.
However my pubic area is now quite rough and sensitive. If I stroke my hand over it, it hurts a little. The heir follicles are still visible and there are tiny amounts of unshaven pubic hair. My pubic area gets quite itchy at times too.
I don't know what kind of situation I'm in because it's all new to me. I just guessed how to shave. Tips and advice would be greatly welcomed.

I took one this morning and there have been no noticeable changes in feeling.
I'm just confused to be honest. Anyone know how long it should take for the pubic hair to regrow?

Don't walk long distances. It'll bug the hell out of you. I promise. I don't know if you'll get use to it, 'cause I didn't, but you might. There's nothing you can do. Give it a week and a half for it start to feeling normal.

I've walked a fair bit since shaving and I hate it. I get so itchy!
I think the problem that I'm finding is that aside from the area being rough and stubbly (to a degree), it hurts for me to rub my hand over. I'm just hoping that things will start feeling normal again soon.

My bf did this a few weeks ago and it was ok at the start but got itchy after a few days. I hear you have to either keep it shaved really smooth or let it grow out a bit. when the hair is long enough it feels ok, so you might prefer just trimming it with an electric rasor. One of my friends has one of those rasors which can take blades but also has a small trimmer at the end which he says works well, and tbh it looks ok.

I have the same problem. If you really want your pubic hair gone, i would wax it. Google how to do it.

I've been in this situation before. My advice is to put some lotion on it. It will start to feel better when the hair starts to grow back. I don't like shaving for this exact reason.

I had this problem a few months back when I tried trimming my pubes instead of shaving them right off. Next time use and electric shave they tend to work well and smoother. Also put some lotion over it for now. The lotion will help the itching. also if I were you I would wear briefs or board shorts or boxer briefs. Those are tight to the skin and woll reduce the abount of rubbing and friction in that area.

I used to have this problem. What I did was I shaved it submerged in water and went really slow and it hasn't itched much. Perhaps that should work.

When you shave anywhere, it will cause your skin to be irritated and it may itch, which turns it read and runs the risk of rash if you scratch too much. So what you are experiencing is normal. For the first few times it can itch like a bitch. But I think (in my experience) if you do it more then it won't be as bad.
Also, what you're desribing, having a little bit of hair left, happens. This is the flaw with razors - they don't cut down everything. That's why there's so many blades - all of those blades can pass over the hair to keep cutting it down to its shortest length.
One thing you can do to get them shorter is shave slowly and carefully in the reverse direction (against the grain) after shaving it with the grain. Although this may cause some ingrown hairs.
You may not see these tiny hairs leftover in porn, because either they're freshly shaved, waxed, they shaved against the grain, or it's just the frame - it's easy to see it up close. It's not easy to see it from a few feet away.
How long does it take to grow back? Idk, I never want it back as full as it is naturally, and that takes at least over a month to do for me.

I'd do it while taking a shower or bath and with shaving cream if there is any. When I first did it was on the toilet and I did it completely wrong and it was itching so badly. So take your time. For the follicle thing. I found out my self if you feel them, going different directions, like if you felt them the most if you touched them going up then shave that direction to take it all off. It'll feel like a smooth baby bro. Also, people have different hair growth so it's not that specific. My growth is fast and it's a bitch shaving a lot.

Just another thought for you, i've been plucking mine since I started getting them which leaves no stubble but I use a bit of disenfectant when i've done in case it gets infected. I don't know how that would work if you started now but i'd guess you could do some each night for a few weeks. Might just be easier to wax first time though.
