it just saves people from having to refresh an active thread,

turning threads into chats makes people talk more i guess

where i can see this being beneficial, alot of threads this would happen in end up with long written posts and having them being fired off straight after the one before gets posted will mean that other people will get lost and left behind in it and lost interest and then the threads stop being community threads and more for whoevers having the thread chat
