Ps3?

My PS2 'Fat' is finally starting to die. It's not reading most games, and it's slow loading games it does load.
I quite enjoy the games I have for the PS2, but I've been curious to if its worth upgrading to PS3.
It looks nice, and has a few good looking games.
Along with that, I heard that the newer ones, have a Patch Download that allows them to play PS2 games?
If you guys could throw in your opinions, that'd be great! Thanks. =3

First off, the new ones will not play PS2 games at all. No way around it. For that you'd have to get either a new PS2 or a PS3 built before 2008. I do love it though, it is a very good system.

If you're going to buy it just to replace the PS2, don't. Won't do you any good. However, if you plan on playing the new PS3 games, you can get a new PS3 for $300, and then a new PS2 for another $100. That's what I'd recommend, if you have the money.

really tink about getting a ps3 if u like ps2 it is almost the same and it is free online. but make sure u get the right ps3 cause i have the "fat" ps3 and it doesnt play ps2 games.

I'm kidding :D I'd say go for it, sure the PS3 can't play PS2 games, but it's worth the upgrade - the quality of the games is so much higher.

Well if Ur going to upgrade Ur console and hope to still play Ur ps2 games then I guess ps3 is the way to go I have one and there good but I prefer my x box 3-60 tho

Well, get the old PS3, then you can play PS2 and PS3 games, the download any PS1 games you want off PSN ;)

PS3 is good but i like ps2 games better take it into a shot that fixes them and they will clean the inside out because if its not reading discs its the lens inside and that needs cleaned then it should work fine if you wanna try cleaning it yourself pm me and ill tell you how to do it but you would have to be sure you know what your doing
