Tomorrow is a big day for the hockey world.

If you aren't familiar with it, each year, on New Year's Day, the NHL plays one game outdoors at a baseball/football field. It has become something of tradition in the hockey world, and is considered the biggest event of the year for the NHL. This year, divisional rivals Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals will go head to head at Heinz Field, home of the Steelers, in Pittsburgh.

If you've never watched the Winter Classic before, I highly recommend you give it a shot! It's truly an exciting game, even for people who aren't hockey fans.

It will be on NBC tomorrow at 8PM.

The NHL really got a lucky break with the time being moved to prime time.

so, since im from pittsburgh id thought i could give some insight on this..
i believe it was a flop, only because it was the warmest day in the city for the past month. it was more like a spring classic. and id say it was a flop because the Pens lost.
but i guess it was good for the city with tourism and all. and because it was moved to prime time.

When did I ever say any of those things underlined?

Yes, I understand that Canada is the hockey capital of the world, and I respect the Canadian teams as much as the American ones. I understand that the first outdoor NHL game was the Habs vs. Oilers in 2003, and up until this year the WC was the only annual outdoor NHL game.

We may not be Canadian but that doesn't mean we can't appreciate hockey. Sorry for bugging you with our appreciation of your sport.
