So for christmas I got a camcorder. and It's HD.
Well the files are .mts aka AVCHD, but none of the editing programs that i have open them... Any clue on what i can use?
and are there any free software that I can use in the meantime while i find a more pro software?

Yeah... Adobe Premire Pro is great... But too pricey... U can try the Corel products... They are for simple editing though...

Try avidemux, it should be able to open them and convert to more conventional formats.

Most camcorders these days come with discs so you can run a program specifically for what you need. Our camera came with a program, now it puts the vids on the computer and converts the filetype to .avi
