I am curious to see which is more popular on this forum. I don't game anymore but when I did it was on consoles such as PS1, Super Nintendo. I also occasionally played games on computers, but that was many years ago.

I'm sure console is more popular, however I personally prefer PC.

I prefer console gaming as it's cheaper and none of my friends game on PC. Good luck getting a gaming computer for $500.

I play both but prefer PC gaming. When I play a PC game, I feel like I have more "control" over what I'm doing. Also, I'm able to tweak the graphics to my liking.

Consoles do have sim and strategy games (those being my favorite genres) but they work much better on the PC since you can easily control everything you're doing. SimCity 4 would never work on a console.

Though, a console is cheaper than a PC capable of high-end gaming.

I do both, but I prefer console because that's where all my friends and computers are too demanding when it comes to graphics. I gotta play my Civ V with the graphics all the way turned down, but yet I can play some games turned up. I hate it. Consoles you don't have this problem.

Well, it works the opposite way too. I prefer PC games because on consoles I'm stuck with unchangeable mediocre graphics settings. On a PC I can take full advantage of my graphics card and turn it up. If you haven't noticed, the graphics on consoles are pretty bad — there's some serious aliasing (jagged edges).

Not this again... since I was an all-type vide-gamer, I'd pick both.

FUDGE! I voted console... Shit... oh well. I was a console gamer ever since I started to walk.

Some engines, though, are Jesus Christ incarnated. The Unreal Engine is proof of that - just look at Gears of War and Mass Effect. AS with RDR's engine.

I have to say that most newer (and some old) PS3 and Xbox360 graphics are immense and I feel like graphics isn't really a valid argument.

I do both anyway, about equal time. But I spose I do prefer the computer due to being able to talk to people easier (even if it is just to alt-tab to facebook :P)

Jaggies aren't all that bad. Besides, my PC couldn't handle even a bit of anti-aliasing. I just, play what suits it. It's an innate property of the PC.

True, but most games are just shit if you take a good look at them.

I hate jaggies with a passion. I find it hard to play a game without at least 2x anti-aliasing. That's just me :P

In my opinion, it totally depends on what game it is.

I would never imagine playing WoW on PS or something.
And I wouldn't enjoy.. Let's say.. Tekken on a PC.

I use PC, I find the controls so much easier to use, instead of joysticks and tiny buttons.

This is a very interesting thread lol

i was expecting to see console, console, console

I use consoles for my first person shooters. PC/Mac for mostly everything else.

I usually play console games(PSP, PS2, sometimes DS), but I will sometimes play computer games(RCT, RCT2, Frozen Bubbles, Armegatron, Marble Blaster). It just depends on what I feel like at the moment. I prefer consoles: they usually are just "plug and play": no stupid dependancies or incompatible OSes & Graphics cards...

They both have uses for different games like PC= Sims etc, Console= Shooters and big screen games

I didn't put WHY I prefer PC =/

I like it better, mostly because I'm a big fan of FPS games, and I am much better with a mouse and keyboard set up. On PC, my COD KDR for mw2 was like 2.64. For my 360, I have like a 1.14 kdr on Black Ops.

So I'm just better. Plus, I find the PC community much more mature, as every time I play xbox I find some snotty little 12 year old screaming shit into his mic about how hes so much better than me.

So there was this one kid with a really high pitched voice yelling at me constantly on a game of MW2 (PS3) a while ago, so I proceeded to call him a "whiny 6 year old." He corrected me. He was 7.

I honestly don't see how you guys get all the kids in your games. Perhaps it's just by luck, or it's actually the game pairing me up with other people of my skill level (You know, adults who know how to play ;) ), but I VERY RARELY get little kids in my games, and if I do get one, s/he's usually pretty good, and pretty mature.

Yeah, and plus with 360s, everybody's in a party now-a-days, so you never meet anybody. Everybody on LIVE already has their clique who they talk to; I know I do. I barely am in gamechat.

I get so aggrivated when I can't use game chat to strategize in games such as COD or especially BF:BC2 either because they are in a party or they don't have a Mic :(

I've always been playing Consoles, so obviously I'd prefer it.
I use my computer for work and communication pretty much, playing games on it feels awkward, I never liked the feel of a game on a keyboard.

This is so 1980's. People have made joysticks for the PC as well. There are games that are better played with the Joystick - e.g Racing games.

RPGs, RTS are mostly played with keyboard. FPS is 25-75 - some like the Joystick, and most of them use the keyboard.

I want to bet on the otherwise.

Once I enter that lan cafe. Buy a time code. Fire up SC II, play against any gamer on there. Win. And voila, you will see girls flocking towards you.

Well, you've obviously never been to America. The girls here are bitches, and we don't have Internet cafes.

However those engines on PC look much, much better. GoW and Mass Effect PC versions look much better, and GTA4 (same engine as RDR) looks better on PC even if it does run like shit on all but the very best computers.

Of course they look better on the computer, but it shows how well a console can process it.

Well of course. Gran Turismo 4 made even the humble Playstation 2 look powerful with 1080i graphics...

They could code PC games so much better than they do, its ridiculous. The always evolving hardware just gives them a license to because in a few years it wont matter that their game was coded like shit.
