My dad want me to be a perfect little girl, but I'm not. My boyfriend is very supportive but I still have problems with self harm. I've been trying to hide the scars from me heating metal and burning my wrists, upper arms and legs.
Any advice to help stop self harm? WITHOUT QUITING COLD TURKEY!

I used to burn rather than cut.
You could use ice, or an elastic band flicking against your wrist to inflict pain without doing the damage that burning does. Good luck.

Set goals for yourself and gradually increase how long you can go without sh. Start with maybe 2 days, then 4 day, then a week, etc. Good luck :)

Yea..just do what she said...use something that doesn't scar. And do it less and less until you stop.

As the other have said, use something that gives you the same type of feeling that doesnt leave scars. Ice is a good one of try, and just set yourself achievable goals, maybe 2 or 3 days first then 5 etc.
Hope this helps

I agree with the others. Ice is very good, specially if your burning as it gives a simular feeling. Good luck!

Try and set goals for yourself. If you feel like you need to burn, Try to find something to get your mind off it. I havent done anything like that but I think the ice and the elastic are both good ideas.

Okay so it was 3 days since my last self harm experience.... But ice and elastic does not work with the fact that it doesnt hurt... So goals do work.... Thanks!
:) thanks
