Yeah it is. And it's working now, I unplugged the USB bit from the wall bracket and plugged it back in, it's sound. Thanks though.

*squirts with water* Bad! BAD!
iPad's are amazing. Just add the microsoft office suite and it would be perfect. I'm not a fan of apple's knock off.

What knock off? I'm intending to use as an internet device when I'm too lazy to sit at my mac, or to go grab my macbook, and for on the go media shizzle. not like on the bus or nothing, on a plane say. or a long train ride.

the knock off, its like iWork or something. Its their word processor, spreadsheet, and presentation thingy. I think microsoft office just needs to release word, excel, etc for it.

Microsoft already makes their Office products for Apple products. The last release was Office for Mac 2010. I wouldn't see them releasing one for the iPad though. It's too Apple focused and already has a built in word processor.

Thats why apple sucks donkey schlong.
Nothing works for it, only things made by apple, unless a company makes something specifically for mac.
PC ftw?

Actually, no. Most companies in the past decade have been able to upgrade their software/hardware to be compatible with Macs. The next step is to make compatible software for Linux really. Don't be so judgmental about Apple, they make decent products, but they're a bit far ahead of their time really. PCs have been the mainstream choice for decades and Macs have been in good running. It'll be that way for a while I imagine, but something will change it for sure. Technology is always improving, you never know what'll happen next.

I don't see why it should keep you from buying the product. The iWorks suite is fine if you ask me, but most people are obviously used to working with Microsoft Office which is understandable. I think if Apple made some serious changes to the iPad (add in a headphone jack, adapters for cameras and other external devices, flash support, ability to multitask) then I would actually consider buying it. It's a good device, no doubt, but serious changes need to be made. Until Apple makes it, I don't think they should expect any more sales than they've already made.

They should also make their mail client more like outlook... outlook is like, my savior.

iPads are great. My friend has one because his dad got one for free.

Macs are ideal for Adobe CSs. I have a PC and after using Macs in my graphic arts class, I prefer Macs for my Adobe needs and PCs for my gaming needs.
And don't be such a fanboy coming in here trolling a thread about iPads.

We don't have laptops in my house, just macbooks. I do love Apple. But I'm not some sort of fanboy mind.
