Here, VT, we will debate which of Pink Floyd's many amazing albums is the best. Please state your reasons why. This is gonna be fun.
I vote Animals — not as loved as the other albums that came out in the 70s, Animals is hard to access for the outside "I love The Beatles!" listener. However, once one overlooks its harsh guitars and general dryness, they can see the inner message that it carries; a powerful rant by Waters against the evils of capitalist society. It's an ingenius album that takes the basic elements (but not exact plot) of George Orwell's Animal Farm and transfers it into an epic (albeit 4 song) album. This albums is dripping with talent as well, from Waters' powerful singing on "Sheep" to impressive stage-setting keyboard work by Wright.

Oh look, another Pink Floyd thread!
Atom Heart Motherfucker is a close second. It's their most experimental and 'out there' album. Not many people understand it or like it. Most of the album is instrumental. It's awesome because not even the members of PF liked it.
But damn, Momentary Lapse Of Reason has really grown on me and is my favorite now. It was my therapists favorite album. I didn't like it much at first, but chocolate jesus, this album is just fucking amazing now. Gilmour did a great job without Waters in this.

There's only one Pink Floyd thread on the first page. Besides, this is better than when we had that tsunami of Bieber threads.
I like Atom Heart Mother too, when I first heard it I thought it would be a lot harder to like than I found it to be. It's a great album, just hard for regular people to access, like Animals. However, I have to admit, I don't like some parts of the title song, but it's still amazing.
As for Momentary Lapse, I have yet to listen to it (inb4 rage).

Well, I'll be honest and tell you that I haven't really gotten into the discography of Floyd yet. Once I have more money and/or computer space, I plan to delve into it.

I feel sorry for you, I really do. You're missing out on so much.
You're in Canada, can't you use your free healthcare or some socialist shit like that to get money to buy some Floyd? I think Pink Floyd counts as a pain reliever.

I have deleted a Pink Floyd(The pipers at the gates of dawn) album by mistake. I came to know this when I have shred everything that is in the recycle bin, and it is no where to be found...
I am this -> now...

i'd say Division Bell, just because when i listen to this album, no matter which song, it just describes my childhood, and the good old days that i had my life.
but technically in my opinion i'd say Wish you were Here and The Wall. actually i think all of their albums are Great, can't really say which is better that the other, its just a matter of the memories they bring to me!

Dark Side of the Moon. Mostly because it's sentimental. When I was younger someone gave me the tape and I used to play it over and over so I love it :)

That's actually a good reason to vote for DSOTM, most people do it because it's the only Floyd album they've ever listened to.

That doesn't bother me. It's the people voting The Wall. Not enough hands to show how bad I'm facepalming.

Yeah, the wall has some pretty (very) bad filler.
Good storyline, though.

How obvious. The two most overrated Pink Floyd albums are highest voted.
HEY! TEACHER! Leave them kids alone!

I'm surprised nobody's voted for Wish You Were Here yet. I'm also surprised "other" got so many votes.

Maybe so but I've never been that much into prog. I've heard a few of them and The Wall was my favourite. Movie wasn't half-bad either.
