Who do you think was the world's best military commander?

Alexander the Great in my opinion.

(And please don't say things like "Patton because he had tanks". I don't say "Don't choose Patton" but don't give your answer relying on age. Bows and spears were state of the art weapons back then )

Patton because he basically won WWII for the Allied powers. Almost single-handedly conquering Italy and without his intervention at the Battle of the Bulge it might have been a Nazi victory. Patton's reputation was one of the reasons that the Normandy landing was a success because Eisenhower used his name to scare Hitler.

Also, he's the reason tanks gained popularity in battle, he designed a sword, and was an all-around badass.
