About a week ago I cut my upper leg, a little above the knee but on the side. The cuts weren't that deep and I bandaged them properly afterward. The reason I'm posting is this because they hurt, A LOT. I've been self harming for awhile and have cut deeper than this and it never hurt this bad. It hurts when I walk, when I touch the area, and even when I try to relax my leg after it's been bent. The cuts have scabbed and there isn't anything like oozing out of them. It's just slightly pink around some of the cuts. Could there be an infection? I only ask because this is the first time the pain have been this long lasting. Thanks so much for any help :)

im not sure how deep you cut. but, it might be you cut through a muscle or something in your leg, so when you move your leg it is sore. it should repair itself but im not quite sure.

i would get it checked out by a doctor or something. just to be safe, incase there is a tiny infection in there somewhere that could turn into something bigger. i would be careful and weary though if i were you. have you tried putting antiseptic creams on it?

but, i personally would recommend professional help from a doctor just incase something is wrong. good luck! <3

It wasn't deep enough to cut into any muscles or anything. But I have some antiseptic cream, I'll put some on. Thank you :)

Cutting near joints is usually painful for a while afterwards. It's because every time you walk you're stretching that skin and interrupting your body's healing process, so your cut remains unhealed for longer. If it hasn't stopped hurting within two weeks I'd be worried, but just give it time.
