His dull crazed eyes burn holes into my brain, I see the rusty knife in his shakey hand, I hear his unsteady breathing, and then my side explodes with pain. I have so many memories like this, but what bothers me is I dont know if its my mind playing tricks. I have a memory of being raped, when I was smaller a doctor asked me if I was being touched, and yet my family denies this ever happening. My father tried telling Childrens Aid that it was my stepfather that was doing this. But, in my memory, it was him. Everyones so two faced and full of lies I dont know whats truth and what isnt. So im stuck, left wondering. Is it possible to get the answers I need??

Eventually yes, but it might take time.

I highly doubt you have memories of events that didn't happen.

I know someone who has this same problem. He has hazy memories of abuse and he has no idea whether or not they are true. The only thing you can hope is that in time things will work out. I'm sorry that this is happening to you :(

I know what this is like.

Sometimes, I'll ask my family if they remember something happening and they'll tell me it never happened.

Like I could've sworn that one day my dad hit my sister real hard and she just layed near the door crying as my dad screamed at her to quit crying and stand up.

They deny this happening.

no, when you have memories like that, don't ask.
They will deny it.

Why do we have memories/imaginations like this? How do we know if they're true? XxMurderedKissesxX, I'm glad you posted this.

I can remember lots of stuff that everyone in my family said it didnt happen so they keep saying things like "well in emmas world _____ would happen". Which annoys me -.-
Like when i was younger my little sister fell down the stairs because we were running at eachother in the hall and we collided and she fell down them.
But everyone says i picked her up and actually threw her o.O

human mind remembers a LOT.
even repressed stuff. I'm fairly certain it is possible to remember every second of everyevent that's happened to you.

Sometimes I'll be sitting with my friends, laughing at some random joke or something, and then I'll see an image behind my eyes (is that confusing sounding?) sometimes they're so hazy that I don't know if its true, and I can't ask others if its just my imagination, because the only other people in that memory/ image I do not keep in contact with anymore.

If something traumatic happened in your life, your brain does a good job blocking it. Something as simple as pouring cereal into a bowl can trigger the memory to be brought back.
