being able to get pm's from ppl who doesn't have 100posts.

Is it possible? I want everyone being able to pm me. I can handle spam, and i want to help new people too. It's not fair that only mods get to do that >< XD ;)
So.... is there any option i didn't see that is determining that?

Having no restrictions on PMs would be a nightmare for two main reasons:

1) people with unsavoury intentions (inappropriate behaviour)

2) advertisements/spam/viruses

Allowing everyone and anyone to PM before they've had chance to prove that they have joined VT for the right reasons isn't an option.

actually, just for example (Jess) when i had 50 posts or so, i accidently made a a thread in you diary (b4 i realised it was YOUR diary XDDD) and i was confused. not sure how the system works. i wanted to pm you but that was impossible. Then i had to turn to a moderator to ask you XDD It was really embarassing. And i talked about getting pm's only for myself. I understand that not evryobody may want it, but i'm interested if it's possible to open that option for myself.

I agree completely. I mean, i see the point of having a certain amount, but just because I'm not too active on VT doesn't mean I don't have good intentions or don't want to help people. Maybe lowering the limit to 50 would be a good idea? I don't know, but I just want to throw the idea out there.

Selectively lowering the PM limit is a horrible idea. The main reason for the PM limit is to prevent camming. Now all the cammers would just opt into that group.

That is just subject to your inactivity. By the time most members have legitimately reached 100 posts they have more reasons to PM for constructive reasons.

Also, never be embarrassed to ask moderators anything :P

↑ you'd be surprised how easy it is to spam to 100 posts, let alone 50 posts before action can be taken against someone who just wants to PM for the wrong reasons.

You can help people via Visitor Message, that is not a problem.
Also, there is still a chat feature where you can talk to people before you can PM I believe.
