Just a poem

It's hopeful I guess :)

And suddenly you aren’t here
To tell me to be better
And suddenly you aren’t here
To bring me back down to earth

I’ve been dropped out in the ocean
And as you swim the other way
You never stop to look back at me
You know it has to be this way

And after a bit of floundering
And thinking I may die
I take a deep breath and float there
As I begin to wonder why

I treated you so terribly
When you did love me so
Why I told you that you were ruining me
Why I dealt you so many blows

You swam away and left me here
At first I thought it was heartless
But it was the only option
If I was really going to change this

I swim to the shore all by myself
I stand there in the sand
I realize I’ve got to go it alone
I chance a smile and clench my hands

When you pass by me my heart glows a bit
I know that this is all for the best
When I meet someone good like you again
I’m sure they’ll be impressed :)
