You are doing so well!
4 months is really really good its not a failure at all,
Only do a new years resolution if you know you can do it, but what is the harm in trying? you slip up what the heck, at least you tried.
Good luck if you do do it xx

You can expect relapses. Saying "I'm not going to do this!" doesn't make a miracle. It's still hard, but it's worth working through.
You're worth alot more then the harm you cause yourself.
Try again, and keep trying. You'll have your goal in due time.

4 months is really good, so well done!
And theres no harm in setting a new years resalution, if you keep focused on your goal, you'll be able to acheive 6 months
You can do it

No it's not.
Not when I should be doing better.
Not when I have no reason to be cutting anymore.

Things from the past can continue to hurt you weeks, months into the future.
It's like the cuts themselves, the day after you do them they will still be painful, sometimes worse. The pain doesn't go straight away.
Things that happen when we are young have a huge impact on our later personality, and the coping methods we will choose. Just because it isn't happening anymore doesn't mean that it isn't still hurting you.

No it's not.
Not when I should be doing better.
Not when I have no reason to be cutting anymore.

Your reason is that you're conditioned to do it. Hun, near the end of my cutting I was cutting just because that's what normal was to me.

There's going to be relapses, there's going to be alot of them. It wouldn't be worth it if it wasn't a fight. You can do this, hang in there.
