http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article/how-to-install-mods/

There are a lot of steps here that I don't understand AT ALL. I tried following it but the mod I was trying to install never got installed. This is why I prefer Zetaboards. It seems so COMPLICATED to install mods.

Mod I am trying to install today is the Arcade

The first step.

This just means that you have to upload the file "file.php" into the phpBB root directory, and the file "file.tpl" into the template directory, without editing them.

in the phpBB mod phpBB Arcade, first three of 'File Copy'

Copy: root/adm/style/acp_arcade.html
To: adm/style/acp_arcade.html
Copy: root/adm/style/acp_arcade_games.html
To: adm/style/acp_arcade_games.html
Copy: root/adm/style/acp_arcade_man

can someone explain this clearly so I can understand?

do I ... upload root/adm/style/acp_arcade.html to adm/style/acp_arcade.html?

yesterday for another mod I did as it told me to, but I still don't understand.

Jess, talk to me direct if it helps, been there, done it. The copying of new files is the easy bit. I will explain more tomorrow, bit late for me to want to think about that now.

did you use AutoMod? it's supposed to make it easier. I'm thinking of downloading that...somehow

no, never really trusted automod, all done by hand.

Jess if you read the thread I pointed you at on GTT the other night you will know some of the pitfalls. You need to keep all of your skins based on either subsilver2 or prosilver, dont mix and match. If you have only one of two skins I might be prepared to install the mods for you if you were prepared to give me the access.

I like prosilver, so I'm only gonna install prosilver skins

oh that would be great if you could install the mods for me, however there's a problem with the ACP at the moment

But AutoMod is the shit, yo.
I've always used AutoMod to install my mods to my board(s). After that, it usually only requires a few tweaks if somthing is out of whack, but most of the time, mods install without problem.
