So I've never really seen an economics topic in ROTW for my however much time I've been here, so I'm starting one.

I'm advocating capitalism, and by that I mean laissez-faire capitalism. Not only is this system the only one that respects a person's right to self-ownership, but it's the best one overall for society.

I advocate a capitalist system with minimal government restrictions. Full property rights (as long as they don't infringe on the property rights of others) and some regulation to protect the environment. In my opinion, ruining the environment is equivalent to violating the property rights of others.

Pollution and the like would involve violation of property rights, therefore there is really no need to regulate it outside of outlawing violations of property rights.

Basic things preventing fraud and all that jazz.

Well, you have to be specific. I'm pretty sure there are many people (Republicans) who don't consider things like pollution to be violating the rights of others, but they do. Polluting the air violates one's right to clean, non-cancer-inducing air. Polluting the water violates one's right to clean water. And so on.

I thought you were a communist...but you're really an advocate of LF Capitalism. Interesting.

You thought I was a communist? Ha, that makes me laugh.

I'm interested in communist theory, yes, but I definitely don't advocate it. Communism (Marxism) is a system that can't possibly work in modern times. Maybe the 1840s, but not the 2010s.

I do believe people have good arguments for regulating the economy, but it just irks me. I don't think we should've bailed out the auto companies, for example, even though many argue that if we hadn't the economy would've sunk even lower.
