I love my two friends dearly. Just wanted to put that out there before I posted this.
My friend Linda went out with this one kid Dan. Linda liked Dan, but Dan was all for Linda. She was almost creeped out by the way he was always trying to dedicate things to her and try to show her how much he loved her. It was only two months and she did not think that he could love her in that time and began to distrust him. SO, she began to stop seeing him as much; pretty much ignored him and he broke up with her.
Four months later my friend Susan tells me she is starting to fall for Dan. But, thinks it is wrong because her and Linda are best friends. Really really really best friends. I told her just to ignore it and the feeling will pass. (She's usually wishy-washy about liking guys)
But, sure enough, Susan goes out with Dan. She asked Linda for permission and Linda said she didn't care and that they would make a good couple.
Now, after two-ish months of Susan and Dan dating, Linda has began to hate Susan. I don't blame her for doing so because you never go out with your friends' ex. But, I just hate to see my friends fight because of a guy. Especially one as ugly as Dan. Also, I would not mind if they just disowned eachother, but Linda pretends to be friends with Susan and then betrays her and Susan cries about it but forgives Linda in the end.
I feel bad because Dan isn't even worth it. He is not only physically unattractive, but he is a scoundrel who hits on a lot of girls; including me. I have talked to Susan and she has talked to Dan, but it doesn't seem like she is trying to end it or fix it.
How can I stay out of the fray without being one-sided? How can I get them to be friends again? Is it even possible at this point? Can I get Susan to understand she really needs her friends more than this douche? What should I do with this situation?
Thanks.
