Where can one obtain a cheap camera with night vision?

You'd have to get a camera with filters. Not so cheap. Toys r us has some night vision shit though.

Idk. It said infrared night vision, which is the heat signature one. The green one is built to use ambient light and enhance it.

I used a pilots helmet one night, just to see how it was, and it was just amazing to see how much ambient light there is when its so dark.

Although heat signature imaging and night vision (light enhancement) imaging are using different ends of the infrared spectrum, they are both infrared.
