Does using up too much space on the HDD of a console (PS3 or 360) affect the running of any games on the system, making them lag or lose framerates etc?

I didn't notice that on my PS3 when I had filled up my 80gb hdd.

I have an 80gb too and was playing demos on it with 27gb left and started getting alot of lag but maybe it was just bad demo design so it can be downloaded easily or whatever: Mass effect 2 was the demo.

Yeah I had 6 gigs left and I didn't notice anything substantial. I dont have that demo, so I couldn't tell you if that's the problem.

Ok, it was just a though since it seems to happen to PC's alot but anyway. You should get on the PS store anyway mate there's actually a good few demos worth downloading: Mass effect, Dead space 2 and LBP 2. :)
