like the title says, this is on the wii and a modern warfare 3 trailer i found that is pretty cool.
before i start talking about the wii, i dont need any xbox or ps3 fanboys coming in and bashing it. i know that one person will see the title, ignore this, and start a console war which i dont want.
start off with the wii:
so ive been seeing videos of the wii in HD (YES IT CAN RUN IN HD, but not like ps3 or xbox res) and there is a HUGE difference in resolution. you have to go and buy Component Cables for it to run in a higher res. i want to do this so badly, but my dad keeps thinking it will burn the image into the HD tv we have. and my uncle who has a wii, has his hooked up to his hd tv. and when i saw that, i told my dad, "see i told you it can use a hd tv."
and every time i bring it up, he just ignores it when i can see on his face that he knows im right, he just wont let me.
so does anyone here have their wii running with component cables? does it have a big difference?
and for this video i found.
i was just on youtube and came across a fan made trailer for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3.
I watched it and it is really good. It doesnt have much views. in all honesty, out of five stars, i give it 4 1/2 stars.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOb90J8Ck7E
and just one more thing. my ps2 is starting to crap on me and it seems like i need a new ps. i want ps3, but i dont have 300 bucks to spare and 60 bucks a game and i need a new car. would anyone recommend me getting it?

PS3 user ready to bash *BASH* :P
But seriously. Me and my cousin unboxed his new Wii last night and on the set up it had a HD burn in reduction option in the Wii settings if you wanted to look into that.
Also it's not really HD if it doesn't have the HD cable, sure you can get the better component cables but they don't add as many pixels...
Ok, your mad that was the only one, I swear
Wow, that's an old ps2 - how longs he been straining himself for?
And towards the new console, you may find it prejudice if I say PS3 so i'll just have to ask you how serious you are into gaming, what games you like etc. and quickly before the Xbox'ers come to spread their propaganda :P

lol, you really didnt say anything that would make me mad. lol. i meant by bash, is like full blown out bashing like just coming in and start saying all these stupid reasons why the wii "sucks" lol.
i know its not full hd. everyone knows that. i mean people saying the games suck (which they absolutely do not), the graphics suck, the controller sucks. but they cant give a legit reason why the wii "sucks." they cant because they know its not true.
and i really do need to get a new Playstation. lol. i need to put a game box behind my ps2 under the cable so it can show up on the tv xD lol. and my sister said its making weird sounds. its soooooooo old.

They said there might not be a MW3. Infinity Ward and Activision are fussing at each other, and unless they can resolve their issues, Infinity Ward might be dropped.
Either way i don't care, Treyarch makes much better games. Black ops > MW2.

ive heard its been claimed, but like you said, they are fussing at each other and their maybe not one, then its all up to treyarch or another developer. im not too sure whats gonna happen. but this article pretty much explains a lot.

Weird sounds as if a constant deep groan sound...? This is what my ps2 was like when the ps3 just came out, it may be down to poor care try taking a hoover to the vents to get rid of years of dust. To be honest if your happy with the Wii and it's games there's no real reason to update the ps2 as well as long as your happy with the games.
The ps3 slim may look the sleekest next to your Wii since they're roughly the same size.
Black ops has topped the $1,000,000,000,000 mark in sales doubling MW2 (that was confusing to type in all those zeros)

its really old. i started needing box support since mid 2009. im more of a casual gamer, and i want to play shooters, too. theres so many games that i want to play but cant. ive never played MW2 which i know its awesome, just the first one and black ops for the wii.
and i didnt see this part of the response. lol. sorry.

Uhmm, ok now we need to determine your budget, both 360 and PS3 can cover the casual market, ps3 without being prejudice I would say slightly more as they're trying to cater for kids now as well: little big planet, mod nation racers, ratchet & clank etc. Also the fact that you have a Wii so you wouldn't want Move or Kinect further supporting PS3 in the casual category as beyond 3rd party I unaware of dedicated casual games for 360 except for the abundance of online Xbox arcade games, which could also be countered by PS minis.
Shooters, if your just wanting to give them a go would range between consoles, do you want to shoot futuristic aliens, or in Manchester Cathedral? Do you plan on getting involved enough that your willing to pay for online or just happy with standard?

causal for me are like mario games. and there are no games for xbox or ps3 that you can get on the wii. im too attached to my wii to trade it all in for another console. and kinect i would never buy. i heard it has too many bugs and its hard for it to determine your motion and you need a whole lot of room. and the move, idk if i would get that. if theres more games that gets you moving, i would consider it.
and ive been playing black ops like crazy on my wii. it just makes me want to play more shooters. theres awesome shooters for the wii, but not like the more hardcore stuff you would find on the ps3 or xbox.
i want to play Red Dead Redemption. it has a 9.9 rating and people i know who have it says its awesome. and the possibility if i buy the ps3 ill end up not liking it or it drives me away from my wii, or i may realize its not that worth it.
and my parents already have to pay for my internet service, so i dont want to pay for any online stuff. i heard you dont have too for the ps3, but you have to pay for xbox.
and if i do get the ps3, ill be playing all the games that people played already and then ill get like, :that game is soo old" or something like "wow youre late."
i feel like im missing out on a lot of stuff too.

In ways you are missing out if you really are interested in gaming, but the fact that someone may be like "wow that's old" is putting you off a console is preposterous, the ps3 I can see is the console your gearing towards most has an abundance of deeply involving games ranging from shooters onwards. Red dead redemption is a good game, but is in no way a reason for you to purchase a console for as it compared to others is just meh, regardless of reviews.
buying a console Xbox or PS3 for the first time, being a gamer and getting bored to me would be impossible there are so many great titles for each to name some: God of war III and Uncharted 3 both ps3 exclusive 3rd person games have been credited to playing the equivilant of a movie.
Xbox would also have their own version of this type of game: Gears of War, having played all of the above i could guarantee entertainment if your looking for a game like red dead.
Shooters range from ps3 exclusives: Killzone and Resistence series' boasting the some of the best graphics and innovative gameplay you could hope for and the xbox having the obvious Halo and many other shooters.
Sorry to sound like a sales rep but it's kind of the best way to explain things :D
Oh and I was actually surprised to see the Wii version of Black ops was just a downscaled version of the full game, but i would say there are better shooters on the wii that Black ops - House of the dead!!!

this is a hard decision to make. maybe i should try some of this stuff out at a friends house or something first.
cause if a wii 2 comes out next year (which is rumored) and it has all the up to dat technology like HD, blu ray and all that other cool stuff, and i have the ps3, ill feel i got jipped off cause all the games that would only be for the ps3 or the xbox, would then be available for the wii 2.

Yea, I would recommend just "commandering your friends consoles and playing them before you make a real decision. But in my opinion the Wii will always be as it is regardless if it makes an HD debut, it will still use DVD untill it has been dicontinued and the world has moved onto Blu-ray (or some other format) in order to sustain it's casual gamer market, without which Nintendo would be bankrupt.
But they have a tough decision to make, from Wii and DS sales they do have the money to create a very advanced product possibly bringing Nintendo back to the days of the super powered N64 but that would be too risky, so I don't really see Nintendo ever focusing primarily on the hardcore gamer. After coming out in 2006 there will at least be unveiling of a "Wii 2" at E3 2011 I would imagine.
But trust me I own a Wii and a PS3 when I say they are to very different consoles and I do not regret spending the £435 on the 23rd March 2007 on launch day for my expensive ps3 (so nerdy that i can remember stuff like this :P) But again it's all in personal preferance, go to a friends house and game on 360 ps3 whatever and get some insight on them before you buy and even check Youtube or somewhere for gameplay videos etc.
Two I recommend you check out on Youtube are: Heavy rain and Uncharted 2

Thanks. And sorry for the late reply. And for xmas, I got a few new games for the wii, rogue trooper, tom clancys ghost recon, goldeneye, super mario all stars limited edition, and god of war, For the psp, and the sims 3 (for wii). I've tried all of them except god of war so far.
And there's a huge dissappointment. Ghost recon sucked big time and rogue trooper is iffy. There's no way im keeping ghost recon. Its sooooo horrible. I give it a 1 1/2 star out of five.
Goldeneye, sims, and all stars I absolutely love. Goldeneye is a
4 1/2 stars out of five.
When I played ghost recon for a total of ten minutes and realizing it was utter shit, I said to myself, I need to get a PS3. But the bad news is that not every ps2 game is compatible with the ps3 so I need to think some things through before I make any conclusions.

Hey Merry Belated Christmas mate, good to hear you got a decent helping of new games for Xmas and they sound quite decent, I had Rogue Trooper back on my PS2 years ago and I can remember it being quite good, but sorry to hear about Ghost Recon - they were mediocre at the best of times anyway but Goldeneye is fantastic! I was playing my cousins copy earlier today and it was very good probably the best FPS on the Wii. God of War should be very entertaining: I had Chains of Olympus I think it was when I used to own a PSP.
You should probably have a look at some more FPS games on Wii that boast the accessories IMO: House of the Dead: Collection looks pretty awesome and I got my cousin this hunting game that comes with a model shotgun to put your Nunchuck into that's pretty awesome (It plays similar to Far cry 2 and is made by Activision.)
For FPS games there really is no comparison between The Wii's catalogue and that of the PS3/360, although sorry to say as far as I know no PS3 slim that is in production (the only PS3 models that are still in production) have PS2 support; older models do like the first series but that's it.
Regardless I would say get a PS3 if you're still after one and keep your PS2 (since selling it would get you nothing more than a handful of penny's) for whenever the nostalgia kicks in.

I would rather die than buy a game to Wii again...
The graphs are bad, and they try to show graphics good by making large bobbleheads and smooth animations....

Well yea, they can't compete in terms of graphics so they need to innovate and they can do it quite well at times. But it's completely different on terms of what games you want to play, this guy likes Nintendo exclusives so he's got no choice really lol.

Well it looks like you can't read what it said in the post. And you would rather die? That's a stupid choice to make. I think you should sit down and think about what you want to do, die because a game system has no good graphics, or don't respond, or go back and read what I said and make a new response. And again, that's a stupid choice if you would rather die.
Out of all the people who would love to start a console war, except you, didn't because they actually read what I said and respected it.
