I read the other guy's topic, and it got me thinking. I also hate school uniforms, and I'm with him and all of the others in America in saying that we'll fight against it. Granted, I'm not going to fight a civil war over it, but I will protest if they ever brought up the topic at my local school board.

You think the UK is uncivilised because kids wear uniforms in schools, which have been a timeless tradition in the nation as well as proving to academically improve focus in classes as well as improve integration between social classes and cultural backgrounds...? You really need to wise up and not judge a country by a few tabloid entry's you read online, the US also has schools that require uniform and the internet thing just raises proof that you've read online and decided to post without any knowledge of the topic.

The Government is currently trying to create a more effective parental control block on the internet co-ordinated by national ISP's - this however will most likely fail or backdown through public disagrement or the amount of filtering that must be done.

You are the shining example of the stereotypical American who know's next to nothing about other country's only involved in themselves so just take your self off, mate.

Ok, so you've wen't on to edit your post by changing to new basis for your argument by targeting the Educational and Health care systems. First of lets say i'm in 6th form at secondary school, in order to do A levels which will grant my position in University, last year I received two A's in Applied Business Studies and a C in Applied ICT both are very advanced courses and actually outdue the amount of work that would be expected of your average University course. I don't know how you can say the system is a failure compared to your own since I would imagine you've never been if you say uniforms are the sole cause for governmential devolution and College's are just night schools that anyone can go to, to benefit themseleves and further their education.

Healthcare, for centuries the UK has had socialist values such as these and cannot be used to say that it is failing because the government feels that people shouldn't have to pay for their own well being as operations come in the price ranges of thousands of Pounds Sterling. Your own government is pondering over the idea of free healthcare therefore your whole argument set piece of this also aiding British government failure is just plain bullshit... Repeating my statement from before wise up and do proper research before saying a country is a failure.

The basis of your post is that the UK is shit because it isnt America. You wouldnt find many people here that would swap our health service for yours, or that would feel safer to know that everyone had guns at home. English is called "English" for a good reason, the only correct form of English is, surprisingly enough, English, not American. School uniform still exists here because the majority of people see it as a good thing. There is no way at all in which it is a "failed system", we have it because it works.

How could I have forgot to mention the Queen's English in my previous rant... Yea she owns the original - not America, nor Australia, not Canada each commonwealth nation has it's own version of the language due to it being the most diverse in the world

Monarchy's in the present day of developed country's are nothing more than figure heads of a time past. Alot of European nations still have monarchy's: The Kingdom of Norway and the Kingdom of Denmark ringing any bells?

The right to bear arms...? Some would call you the uncivilised society.

I like how you gave me negative karma, just because you disagree with my opinion. That's low. Not even I would do that to you.

Negative Karma, how can I possibly effect your own choices in life...?

And honestly after that big post I gave you this is all you can muster after you've thoroughly been proven wrong, you couldn't even apologise?

When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns. If I were of a criminal disposition, I'd be far less likely to rob a store if I knew the clerk or another patron could pull a gun on me.

I didn't even see the first post, but I'm guessing this is just a troll topic.

Based on nick and scubas post, I'm guessing you went on some mad rant about how much better the U.S is than the UK.

Son, I live in the U.S, and I disagree with you. If I could, I WOULD move to the UK.

2 Points:

(1) This is a debate forum, don't post here if you don't want to debate your views
(2) Grow Up, he's entitled to his opinion as well.

What about being absolutely preposterous in what they're saying that does not form the basis of any argument other than what they've seen on a few tabloids online, turning into more or les trolling?

I haven't read the original post but it seemed to imply that Britain sucked because it wasn't America, that would offend many people and some might go as far as to say it was racist

there's nothing wrong with uniforms, it has pros and cons but personally I don't like them

The last civil war was fought over slavery and the freedom of black people (as well as other factors I know), can you really compare your cause to it?

Related to the United Kingdom: our last civil war was over the distribution of power between royalty and parliament... Not really comparable to school uniforms.

If it did happen, kids would be unhappy but the non-redneck one's will move on with their lives.

Do you ( or Does anyone ) expect teens to arm themselves with sticks, revolvers and other gang weapons, march on schools and riot shields and try to change the system?

We don't need this many threads about the same topic. The others are more substantive, so this one's on the block. :locked:
