Yes, but that was ~9-10 years ago.
Oddly enough, you could buy MUCH better things THEN for $500.

Apples premise of "everything should be in a nice case and overly simplified and cost hundreds more than reasonable" works with mp3 players, because they don't need to be complicated. It utterly fails when it comes to computers, though, unless you create a hypocritical ad campaign that's full of bullshit "HURR VIRUSES" propaganda.

I LOVE MY Ipod i would die without it i will never have a zune or any other mp3 player and ive never had any trouble with apple products the only issue ive ever had is the screen in my touch went out in a week so i had to return it but i love my nano

Then Microsoft takes it and tries to make it "the best" and just fails. Just like all the iPad rip offs. COME ON you can't tell me any of them are good. The only one close to being good is the Samsung Galaxy tab.

No, they take existing technology and put it all in a shiny case that you can't even open for yourself. Then they slap a huge price tag on it.

Microsoft hasn't made a iPad rip-off. Also, the Zune platform is great.
