I started self-harming in May but I do it very, very infrequently, like .7 times a month. I don't remember any dates because it in my mind it takes an obsessed person to do that.
But anyways, when I think about cutting and suicide and when I put myself down harshly, I get this pain in my fingers, near my fingertips. Does something like this happen to anyone else? An immediate physical reaction to these thoughts?

I think I know what you mean. But I only feel that when i'm sad or when i'm about to cry. I was actually wondering about it aswell.

I have never really got this, the only thing I really get is when its really cold, my scars start to ache like crazy. Never haad any pain triggerd by thinking about cutting. The pain only really comes when I actually cut.

When I think about cutting my wrists (not my legs) or suicide when I haven't done so for a little while my ankles start to feel really odd or the vein at the base of my palm on my wrist starts to throb. It's a very uncomfortable feelings.

Whenever I think about cutting my arms itch like hell and I get shooting pains down them, whenever I think about suicide I get the same except sometimes I'll get shooting pains in my stomach too.
I think it's just a natural reaction to the thought really, probably nothing that needs to be worried about or anything. Just don't let it push you into doing anything.

I get it in my legs (which is odd, because over the past 2 1/2 - 3 years i've cut more on my arms)
I guess the association with that kind of thoughts and pain creates a psychosomatic response?

Whenever I get really upset either by thinking about something that hurts me from the past or a comment, I get that tingly-pain feeling in my hands. At times it won't go away, at times it flows throughout my entire body, and at others it just stays in the fingertips for a second or two. It's never when or about cutting, though.
