I kind of live a sedentary lifestyle with a seasonal sport or two, but i've never really have gotten into fitness, or working out/running. I would like to start working out and running because i have a decent amount of spare time that i usually spend online, and i would feel productive. I would rather look stronger and in general better, so i think that i would gain some muscle and look good for summer and college that fall. How do i kind of make that transition? i mean i can randomly go on the treadmill or the weight bench down stairs in my basement, but i would feel awkward if my parents ask and notice

I felt the same way last summer and they didn't really ask anything. if anything my step dad tried to help me out. so ya don't worry about it and just go for it.
