A woman is devastated that her sister refuses to leave her abusive boyfriend. Then she discovers that her sister committed a major crime. Her sister years ago decided to play a prank on a friend by putting sleeping pills in her food. However, another friend who happened to be a pilot ate the food. Then he began flying a small plane with 10 passengers and a co-pilot. He feel asleep which resulted in a crash that killed everyone accept for the co-pilot. The woman decided to blackmail her sister into leaving her boyfriend. The sister does it but then starts to feel guilty. She felt that she deserved her boyfriend's abusive behavior because of her crime, ans so she goes back. She also resented her sister for blackmailing her into leaving The woman then has to make the decision to expose her sister's crime or just accept the fact that she has chosen to remain in an abusive relationship. Things get more complicated when the abused sister's boyfriend finds out about the secret and threatens to expose it unless he stays with her.
Here is an alternate version of the sister's backstory that may be more plausible:
She puts sleeping pills in a friends food so that she can get a job over him. They were both interviewing for the same jb and she was going to do the interview a few hours before him. She wanted the job because she was having trouble finding job that she could use with her college degree and she needed to earn money to pay back her student loans. The pills however, do not work as quickly and he goes driving and falls asleep causing an accident that kills several people including himself. Is that more plausible?
