Ear piercing isn't all that bad. It feels like how you'd imagine really, some pressure followed by a bit of pain, possibly tiny amount of blood and lots of throbbing.

I don't have a lip ring so I wouldn't know.

I've seen some people get their lip done, you honestly don't usually feel it while it's going through until later when it starts to get sore. For ear piercings, all the ones I've gotten haven't hurt one bit. It's just a little pinch. It doesn't really bleed either, or feels sore afterwards, just a pinch that lasts half a second. It's not bad at all.
