Just thinking to stop people joining for a day and to never come back on again say maybe once they join they have 10 days to have 1-10 posts to there name otherwise there account gets cancelled. whats your guys opinion?

Its an interesting suggestion, but some people are slower posters than others and there's nothing wrong with that.
In practical terms these things depend upon what features are builtin to the admin interface on vBulletin, dont think this would be supported.

To be honest, it's simply not practical for a forum this size to have that feature. As not all members jump into the forum right away. Some will lurk around and post on what they really would like their input to be on. I just don't think it would work here.

Hell, I still do this. I cant stand when people bitch at me cuz I dont post on anything and everything. I post where I feel needed. I see alot though, tis the job of a lurker :P

It's an invitation to spam just to attain that 'x' amount of posts. It's not fair to pressure members into posting anyway. I know I like to lurk around places just to read.

they might join, and plan to post but something happened that they can't come back for a while..idk but I'm pretty sure there's no add-on like this

Well maybe sending an "Inactivity Email" to someone who hasnt posted in while to make sure they still going to be active or something. Ive seen alot of forums do that.

Would help clear up a ton of usernames ^_^ I know a few I could steal if i could. But no, someone who hasnt posted for 3 years and only has 3 posts has it :P What a pain ¬¬

The problem with this is ↓

So, the example you've given Tom, I think not.
However... I'm not sure. Members that may leave then decide to come back for a reminisce would be pretty miffed if they came back to find their account no longer existed.
Also, what about those that just get X number of posts and then get bored and don't come back?

As has been said, people like to lurk and people will end up spamming to get that amount of threads. When you join a forum you don't expect your account to be deleted if you just haven't got around to posting yet.

Sometimes you can find that if you talk to an admin anything is possible. The name 'nick', not surprisingly had been used before, but hey, now I have it.

I don't like this idea. People like Aaron (Kaius) may join for a few days, and then leave for a few months. I think that's what happened with Aaron. He didn't actually start posting until a few months after joining.
