So, I've been thinking. Is it possible for pain tolerance to increase? I'm not even sure if "tolerance" is the right word. But I've noticed that I've been needing to go deeper and deeper as time goes on to get the same effect that I used to get with shallower cuts.
Has anyone else noticed something like that? I don't know what to call it, I'm not sure whether tolerance is the right word, but it'll do for now.

I think so. The first time I cut, I flinched if I went a bit deeper than really, extremely shallow. At first all my cuts were really shallow. But now I have to go much deeper than that to feel the same as I did then.

You can tolerate the pain more easily as time goes on. So more "damage" is needed to get the same response. It just keeps gettin worse

Yes i think your "tolerance" does increase the more you do it,
Wanting to go that bit deeper, My first ever cuts were shallow
and slowly over time they have got deeper.
So yeah its totally normal i think x

Yeahh I think it is, like the other have said, the more you do it the more you can tolerate the pain, so you have to go deeper to get the same feeling of pain.
I noticed that when I used to cut alot more than I do now.

yes your pain tolerance increases the more you cut in one area, so if you were to cut somewhere new it would most likely hurt more than in a spot you usually cut
