People are bothered that gays, lesbians, and bisexuals not being aloud in the army.
But think about this -
If you're not straight, why would you want to fight in the army? You're supposedly fighting for rights that you don't receive as a person in the first place such as gay marriage and most recently, even sex. So what would be the point of fighting for rights you aren't even given in the first place?
Enlighten me, VT.

A lot of gays and lesbians have feelings of patriotism just like straight people, and they want to make the "ultimate sacrifice" and go to war for their nation — even if that nation doesn't particularly like them. Soldiers don't fight for rights, they fight "enemies" of the United States. The only time they really fight for our rights is when our rights are threatened, something that isn't happening in our current situation in the Middle East. I don't see how a bunch of terrorists are a true threat to the freedoms we enjoy, compared to Nazi Germany or the Japanese in WWII.

Uh, yeah. I don't get it either. I'm opposed to gay marriage and repealing DADT for that exact reason. I'm fine if other people want it, but I personally don't. I would never want to be in the war that's going on right now. It's a terrible fucking war that is pointless.

I don't understand at all why sexuality had anything to do with being ready to kill someone. If you are fighting a war why care who someone shags or who they think of when another person's blood splatters across their face or who they pray for when the jeep in front blows up. It. Just. Doesn't. Matter.
LGBT people have the same feeling as every other person in the country, why shouldn't they be allowed to give support to their own nation?
That's how I feel
