View Full Version : Does anybody else have this?

I know I'm posting all over the place lately, but it's probably because I haven't been on for awhile. And since I don't foresee sleep in my near future, I might as well ask this question since it's been bothering me.

Sometimes I'll just be standing or sitting or whatever and I'll see someone walk by and then they're not actual there. Like, no one else sees them and they think I'm insane when I jerk my head over to see what they're doing. Or I'll hear someone say my name or something and no one said anything...or so I'm told. And in volleyball practice, I'll see a ball flying at my head, so I'll duck and try to prevent myself from getting hit in the head and then there's not even a ball anywhere near me.

Does anyone else have experiences similar to these? Is this normal?

Hm, I can't say I know what this is, because I don't. Do you take any medications that have hallucinatory side effects? Do you use any mind-altering substances? (Not saying you do, just thought I'd ask). Medication and drugs are two things that can cause hallucinations.

In your last post you said you see a guidance councilor, so maybe you should bring it up with her. She probably won't be able to diagnose anything (unless she is also a doctor), but she could direct you to someone that might be able to. Also, checking with your pediatrician might bring you some answers.

Most important of all, don't let people think you are crazy. Everyone has their quirks, and maybe your mind playing tricks on you is one of them. Believe me, I have plenty of issues myself, and I would like to think that I am not crazy. :-P

Shockingly, I don't take any medications at all. Every now and again ibuprofen but I haven't even had any diet pills recently or anything. I don't use any substances either. I'm not a fan of drugs, personally.

That's probably a good idea. It's kinda creepy, to be honest.

And haha thank you. That actually makes me feel significantly better about it. (:

My friend had some experience with stuff like this. It usually happens or starts with some sort of damage/injury usually to the head. If you can think of a serious injury or even a minor injury you had to the head, that may be it. You can fix this with deep hypnosis, and actually "erase" these "visions." And forget them for ever. Send me a message if you have any questions.

I've had similar happen to me.
It can be caused by stress or other things.

I know it happened when I thought to hard on something, or when I was worried about something.

Hallucinations are a daily occurrence with me. I've sort of learned to ignore them. I'll jerk my head to look at something I'm seeing about twice every hour or so. Most of the time it's just movement and nothing more, then I'll see outlines and shadows that are moving which I debunk in my head and ignore even though I know it's my bipolar disorder acting up :/ I just tell myself it's the shadow of the lamp or something, even though I know it isn't, just to get myself through it. I don't know how else I'd deal with it otherwise since I refuse to be on antipsychotics (or any meds for that matter).
