I'd stopped cutting for a few months, but now that my eating habits are going downhill, my cutting is coming back. I don't know why or what to do, but I just feel the need to cut again all of a sudden. I hate it so much but I keep doing it, and it had been so long since I'd cut too. :/

You don't need to cut, ever, no matter what is happening you don't need it. You can continue on going, and you will if you let yourself, don't push yourself away when it needs you most. It's urges, you'll get them, everyone that self harms, tends to get this feeling, it just depends on what you do with those feelings that count. Try doing things that keep you occupied and away from harming yourself, never ever give in. Keep on fighting and keep on resisting, it does get better.

Siobhan is right.
Something I was shown is that the want to self harm, can be used in a positive way. Use a razorblade to cut designs into paper, use a lighter to burn edges of paper and make it look old.
What helped me to stop cutting was when I'd really want to, I'd find something in which I'm using both my hands. Typing, drawing, makeup. Something in which I couldn't use my hands. It worked pretty well too.
You are always worth more then the harm you're doing to yourself. Never forget there are people out there who love you.

I know exactly what you mean because sometimes when my eating habits change or get messed up I get the urge to cut too.......usually after I binge though because I feel guilty, perhaps if you try to tackle the eating habits then it will help with the urge to cut, in the meantime try every way possible not to cut so that you don't start associating food and cutting, it's a really bad cycle to get trapped into. Good luck x

Totally get where ur comming from, that happened to me. Only I never tried to stop again, and im regretting it. Extremely. Know that u can over come the urges and be cut free again. U said that now that ur eatting habbits arent so great u started to cut again. Is that a triggering thing for u? Maybe if u work on ur eatting then it will be easier to stop cutting?

Thank you so much everyone for your advice and support.
And to clarify about the eating habits, I have some weird kind of eating disorder which mostly involves eating very small amounts of food during the day, and I typically get the urges to cut when I've eaten even a little more than usual.

I wouldn't say that's some weird kind of eating disorder, sounds pretty normal for an eating disorder to me.

Does it? I really don't know...

Well, self harm is very closely related to eating disorders, also using cutting to combat guilt is pretty normal, and in eating disorders feeling intense guilt for eating more than you usually do is a typical symptom of one.
I'm exactly the same with my eating.

Yeah I agree with Kathy, it sounds like you have an eating disorder but it is nothing uncommon. I am sure there are plenty of people in this forum that feel the same way you do and I know that one of the reasons I started cutting was because of my eating habits. You're never alone, there's always someone out there who understands =)
