View Full Version : Resetting posts per day

I think it'd be nice if there were some way we could reset a user's "posts per day" statistic. I, for instance, have been here around three years, but took an eight or nine month absence at one point, and so now my posts per day is at 4.2 when I post more like 15~30+ times a day.

This isn't particularly important, but I'm sure some people would appreciate a means of resetting this.

tbh I dunno why it would matter. It's a statistic that no one really looks at I think.

I believe it's like that because of how long you've been a member too. it goes down gradually as well.

someone that just joined today can get 100 posts per day because they posted 100 posts in one day. gradually it goes down and over 3 years it will certain not go up as much

but I don't know if it's even possible anyways to reset it.'

oh...and sorry if I shouldn't have posted..........>_>

I agree. I really miss my old PPD before the accounts were merged. Alex had such a low one... And I definitely post more than 1 1/2 each day, but her PPD really lowered my average.

It doesn't really matter to me. I've been on and off the site 5 times in 4 years and the "posts per day" stays true to the division behind calculating it - I've always been around 4 to 6.

While in theory it would be nice, I think that posts per day is just a way to impress people and no change is necessary because its so insignificant.

I think by "no one looks at it" he meant "no one should care about it" - or if he didn't, I do. It means what it does: an arithmetic mean of posts per day, or, more centrally: basically nothing.

While it might be a miniscule problem, I wouldn't mind if I were able to reset mine. It's not very accurate.

Mine's less than half what it really is, but i don't see the issue. Post per day isn't used for anything, really

And this is important how? An "E-Penis" is just like the reputation and post system, it doesn't really matter. :P

Haha "e-penis"

If Reputation is like an "e-penis" that means I have a really small, black one.

how could ppd be reset

Actually, yours is dead on. You've posted 10,021 times in 1165 days (I used this (http://www.timeanddate.com/date/duration.html) to calculate that), which makes for 8.60 posts per day. It's not like the calculator is broken or anything - this is the average of all of the days you've been a member.

So saying "it's less than half of what it really is" is incorrect - it's less than what you've currently been doing. Or, more accurately, what you want it to be.

I was peeking at other's Rep Penises in the Moderator Locker Room and mines different from everybody elses...theirs are long and green and mine is small and black. Will it grow?

As Zach points out, this represents exactly what it's supposed to: the number of posts you've made divided by the number of days you've been a member. It can't be "inaccurate" without you adding some meaning to it other than what it's intended to represent. Between that and the fact that it's hugely irrelevant, I can tell you this won't be happening.

I really wish I could rep this. Positive rep, of course.
