okay, so recently my dad has been using my laptop, and i've been using his, cause i can't use msn on MY laptop for some reason.
occassionally i use my laptop, and i was just looking through the site history and OMG! D:
there's like all these weird porn sites? and it's all like young girls and stuff :|
i realise my dad is a guy and yes, we all have 'needs' but i mean, i can't let him use my laptop if he can't even delete his own history! :/
and now everytime i see him using the laptop i have to ask what he's using it for, and tbh most of the time it sounds like he's hiding something.
i really don't want to get any viruses on my laptop, because he's looking at stuff, it's a really awkward situation to bring up with your own dad. i don't really know how to go about it...

You could just leave him a note telling him he has to use his own computer. Oh, and I would delete the history for him because your mom might see and think it was you. *shrug*

I think for now you should leave things as they are and keep quiet.
If however your laptop gets a virus and you think it could be related to the sites your dad's visited, then you should confront him.
I think you'll only stir up conflict with him if you confront him before anything's actually happened.

oh my mum won't find out, she's dead :L
and yeah, i have been doing so, my niece uses this laptop too so i don't really want her to accidentally come accross any of that.

Honestly, just bluntly ask him to use his own laptop if he needs to watch porn.

Just tell him you do not feel comfortable with him using your laptop, and you'd like him to go back to using your own. As for the MSN thing, I guess it is just something you will either have to sacrifice, or call for professional help with. I recommend Geek Squad, they work well and fast. You can call or go in to our local Best Buy.
If you plan to call, their phone number is 800-433-5778.

Try putting two accounts on your laptop?
Password protect yours so he cant get on it and put another profile ( guest or dad or something ) so he can look at what he wants without messing your part of it up.

That wouldn't work... if a virus gets on the computer at all it has the potential to infect the entire machine, not just the user profile on which the virus was aquired.

I just meant so he would have his own privacy.
How about just telling him to get on his own laptop, maybe he is using your laptop so if you get caught by police or somebody ( Sorry about your mother by the way, my regards ) then you would get in trouble and not him, it sounds spiteful but some people will go to efforts so they never get caught.

Good point
And you might want to just find out why you can't use MSN on your laptop...I could probably help you with that if you would like...

Set up you're computer to delete it's browsing history everytime you close a tab, be sure it deletes cookies and other stuff as well. You could also lock you're computer from those websites to encourage him to use his own computer. It's in you're computer settings, it's like a child-lock.

^^Try that.
Or just prevent your dad from using your laptop by hiding it.
How could MSN not work? Are you using a computer that's not running Windows or something?

You could also have the browser security settings increased to limit access to sites with adult content. Good luck with everything!

oh god, i was using my dad's computer once and i found history and history of porn. they have their needs. but honestly - do what i did, just tell him that you know he goes on it and just delete the history. because it's not fair to what he is doing especially if that is YOUR laptop.

Be like "Dad I'm getting viruses and I don't know why? I don't look at porn or anything" Maybe it'll scare him :D
