So, I had to create a DVD cover thing for my graphic arts glass using Photoshop. We had to make the plot, etc. So this is what I made:

It's a little brighter than what I made, but you get the idea. I like it; any critiques, though? I wouldn't mind making my Photoshop skills better. :P There is one mistake; the DVD thing on the spine is too far to the left for some reason. Oh wow, this isn't the version I printed out since I didn't save. That explains it... Lol, whoops.

Bonus points if you catch the Anchorman reference in the picture.

Love the pulp fiction reference xD

It looks too armature though. Really good though :D And probably a little better than I can do.

Armature? And I thought you were certified with CS3 or 5. I doubt it's better. :P

3 suggestions;

1. Different color scheme, this one makes it kindof confusing, and I find it really hard on the eyes.

2. Use some blending on the images on the cover, it looks kindof just thrown around.

3. Organize it better, and blend the text into the cover, i mean readable but not just thrown on top. Oh, and maybe resize the text? Use like critic quotes, etc.

The thing about the color scheme is it was a lot lighter, but when it was saved to my flashdrive and I put it on my computer, something must have changed it because it was a different color entirely. Darker, not lighter. And I don't know how to blend stuff. :P

Ok well, I just opened it in my Photoshop, and it was the right color. That is weird.

--I learned all of the blending here. And alot of really neat effects using the text tutorials, but those effects can be applied to much more.

I have a question: I'm use to CS3 and I have CS5 on my computer and I magic wand'd the text of "wide screen" and I can't move the text that I magic wand'd; I can only move the the magic wand things itself. What do? :P Actually, I also just move the entire layer, too.

Why the hell did you magic wand it?

To move it since the layer has been flattened and the original is on a Mac in my school, and I was feeling like messing around with it. :O I know of no other ways to move it after it has been flattened.

EDIT: I found my problem. The move tool wasn't on auto-select. :P

Quick select?

1. i hate editing flattened images. If i flatten, i always keep an original too.

2. I never use the magic wand... its not my favorite tool. Im more fond of the quick select and ctrl+j. But MUCH more fun of non-rasterized text layers xD

I've never used quick select. :P

EDIT: Wow, it is more precise than magic wand.
