I have excepted atheism. My problem is that I go to a private christian school and if my mom found out she would probably take me out knowing that I didn't really care about what I was learning there. I would probably leave myself if it weren't for all my friends. I realize that the easiest way to hide this would be not to tell her, but my problem is I was planning on getting confirmed this year and it would look very suspicious if I backed out now. Any help is appreciated.

Well, as you already know you have two choices:
1) Be honest and run the risk of losing your friends, hoping that you can persuade your mother that up heaving you from your current school won't do your education any good and that you're happy to continue there due to your friends.
2) Be confirmed and be unhappy about it, continuing to keep secrets from others and hoping that you can sign yourself out of Christianity later, whilst the façade goes on until you're capable of doing so.
So, it entirely depends on your will power and how strongly you feel about not getting confirmed, how good you are at persuading and how lenient your mother is.

Well, there are many atheists that go to private Christian schools. Minus the dogma, a lot of these schools provide a good quality of education. Academically, it's probably a good idea to stay. Socially however, I were you might encounter problems like discrimination...especially if you live in America.
I really depends on what you think will happen if you tell people...if you think that you'll be able to deal with the extra problems then i say just stay...unless you think it might make your school life hell (no pun intended).

Really. Just keep your belief for yourself. Don't mind the guilt of not telling your own disbelief. Private schools are immensely fine, don't be too open, you'll risk some of your friends and discrimination. And yes, be confirmed if you wanted to keep your un-faith a secret. It won't hurt you really.

It's not a religion that you convert or to except(?) atheism. Unless you are going to be a Zen Buddhist.
Oh, and I don't tell anyone I am an apostate. I even observed fasting this year.
Documents might say I am a Muslim, but in reality, I am not.
