Cody showed me this on MSN, can't believe how bad it is,
The now infamous Wikileaks recently released a cable from Afghanistan revealing U.S. government contractor DynCorp threw a party for Afghan security recruits featuring trafficked boys as the entertainment. Bacha bazi is the Afghan tradition of "boy play" where young boys are dressed up in women's clothing, forced to dance for leering men, and then sold for sex to the highest bidder. Apparently this is the sort of "entertainment" funded by your tax dollars when DynCorp is in charge of security in Afghanistan.

So, that's what near 25% of my earnings go towards every month.
Lovely
Now I can safely say I'd rather that money goes to the crack heads in town who abuse welfare and give it a bad name.

It's unfair for you to automatically assume America is bad over this. It's not America. It's DynCorp.

Kid? Are you really that narrow minded? I'm not typically one to come to defend my country, but on what grounds do you have to criticize America? Besides, America as a country didn't do this, it was DynCorp who used the money.
Well, Aghanistan is America now, it is that simple.
No, this is simply you being ignorant to the actual facts. Claiming Afghanistan as America makes as much sense as proclaiming England as Germany.
Nonetheless, this is incredibly disgraceful. More power to WikiLeaks and Assange for putting out this information.

Not at all. And this is an Afghan - not American - tradition either way. It's reprehensible that America would pay for it, but that's all.

I know, and I'm resisting your efforts to steer the argument to something completely unrelated to the issue of a disgusting local custom.

I'm sure he's much happier to be under the "protection" of the US rather than have his wife and kids abducted or killed for not meeting the local gang's crop quota's.

Well, if you can imply that Afghanistan is America, can't he say that Istanbul is Constantinople? Or are we not following the double standard?

America invaded Afghanistan and America now dominates over Afghanistan. That is what I meant by Afghanistan is America.
I don't know if any Greek soldier marched to İstanbul and took it since 600 years

We took over Afghanistan out of false suspicions and we have yet to realize it. Afghanistan is still Afghanistan. Using this "x is y" theory - for lack of a better word - doesn't explain anything.

Wiki leaks is wakin' up tha world and its long over due. Things people would not believe are being brought into the world's view. I think its disgustin' what DynCorp did, they should be put out of business for doin such a thing, or at least a massive fine and prison for those involved. I hope those boys can be found and get the help they need.
Everyone involved needs to be brought to justice.

The USA probably has the toughest child protection laws in the world. US citizens can now be charged for a sex crime if they commit child abuse in another country if it can be proven that was the purpose of the trip. Their prosecuted for traveling for immoral purposes. A doctor was charged after he bragged to an undercover 60 minuets reporter. He probably went to prison for a long time, will never practice medicine again and is a resisted sex offender. You can't blame the government for not catching everything. Can a turk go to jail when he gets home for buying a child somewhere in Asia? Does anyone know if their countries have such laws?
