just wanted to share it...um yeah

My brother applied for Cornell. I thought he would be accepted. But today we found out that he was rejected. he and our parents spent so much time working on essays and stuff to get him accepted...and now he's been rejected...

Guess he'll have to try another school -_-

Cornell is ivy league, yes?

Most people don't get in, even if they have the grades.

Dunno what he's going for, but there's plenty of places that are just as good, cost less, and are slightly less competitive.

I don't think Cornell is Ivy League..my brother's smart but we can't afford to go to any Ivy League schools

If you can get in, they'll find a way to let you go. But it's a pain to get in, and most people don't.

I thought it was. But it's obviously one of the more competitive schools.

Isn't your brother younger than you tho? B/c he's gonna get rejected for the most part if he's not a senior.

Kyle's right, Cornell is definitely an Ivy League school.

And he's also right that for all the Ivies, they reject tons of people who are very qualified. It's too bad, but your brother will find somewhere he loves.

He only applied to one school in the first place?

Early Decision only allows you to apply to one school, which given the timing is what I presume he did at Cornell.

That would make sense then. I didn't even think about Early Decision.

My sister's best friend goes to Cornell. She applied her senior year of high school and got rejected, and then went to another school for 2 years before applying again. He shouldn't feel terrible, I'm sure he's very intelligent, and people get rejected from colleges all the time.

People get rejected all the time. He'll probably find another school he likes :)
