When Xbox first came out here it was around a thousand just for the system, when I got it, I paid like 550$ish for it that got me the system, controller, 2 games and the dvd remote. Since then I've expanded my game selection (I've got over a thousand bucks in games), I've got 3 working and 1 messed up controller and the remote, 2 headsets blah blah blah so I've spent a few thou on my Xbox easy.

All controllers will be wireless. i have seen real in-game screenshots and the graphics are the best ive ever seen!!!!!! The 40gb hardrive is removable. So you can take your saves easily around with you, bit bigger than a memory card tho :p

yeah MTV does suck, isnt it weird how all the nerd stuff is starting to become the cool thing? like first 1337 speech was just used on online video games with the chat, now theres bands with 1337 in it, and video games are on MTV...it really pisses me off.

Xbox is new microsoft has only put out one system and they shook the shit out of the compitetion. I wouldn't say there out yet.

true...but the ps2 sold 80 million units and microsoft only sold 20 million and yes sony came out a yr before microsoft, that is 60 million units more....so xbox could come out with there next gen system a yr b4 sony, but considering sales ....PS3 could still come out on top.

Microsoft isn't going anywhere, it will become a big player in the gaming world, microsoft is extremly powerful almost every house in countrys that are doing well like Canada, America The U.K etc... has at least, at LEAST one microsoft product, there everywhere.
They have poored a TON of money into the Xbox franchise belive me there not going anywhere

haha nice one Cosmos..I don't know the sony has a tough competetion since the Xbox 360 has online chatting capabilities and stuff its practically a computer with a bigger graphic card. Nintendo they are good but come on...The only thing that didn't make them go out of business was the GBA, Sony migh have something good I wouldn't doubt it, though its gonna be really hard to match the Xbox 360...

What Sony failed to mention is how the 360 is capable of the exact same demos. Now, Microsoft chose to use real-time demos instead… but that just shows how much more time developers have had with the 360. The PS3 is better than the 360 at some things, naturally, but the 360 is also better than the PS3 at other things. They each have their strengths and weaknesses, and in the end what really matters is the quality of the gaming experience. And as it stands right now, Sony hasn’t really announced anything about their gaming experience aside from a goofy looking boomerang controller. Time will tell, but for now the 360 looks to be more than capable of holding its own, technically speaking.

As for Sony… they’re pretty much just improving graphics as much as they possibly can. Which turns out to not be much more than the Xbox 360.

Xbox Live was the straw that broke the camel’s back for many of those who purchased an Xbox this generation. Instead of setting up a separate account for every game, with Live you have one single user login, one alias, and one friends list. You can join a friend’s game even if you are playing a different game. It also has universal voice communication – all games support the Xbox Communicator. This created a much more social aspect of gaming that really hadn’t existed, to a large degree, prior to Xbox Live. Sure, you had Counter-Strike clans voice chatting on TeamSpeak, but that was the exception, not the rule. Xbox Live was revolutionary, and its success demonstrates that – it now has 1.5 million subscribers.

In this case, by integrating it with every single facet of your media experience. Watch the new episode of Lost and talk about it in a voice chat with a few of your friends. Screw expensive voice chat solutions, grab a copy of Live and an Xbox Camera and you’re good to go. Want to listen to check your friends list to see if there’s a good game of Splinter Cell going on? Hit the new Live Guide button on every controller and see with a quick glance. No longer do you have to wade through layers upon layers of menus, just press the button and control all your media from one easy menu. All games next generation will require Live compatibility, even if it’s just showing you as playing single player.
Another feature Microsoft is pushing is the Live Marketplace, which allows you to buy and sell things like cars and skate parks. How well this works remains to be seen, but if implemented well you may never have to pay for another Halo map again, just make and sell a few skate parks and download that new map pack you’ve been wanting. On the flipside of that, we may wind up paying for every individual level of a game… then never getting the final stage because the first set of maps didn’t sell well enough. Time will tell with the Live Marketplace, but the Live Guide button is going to change the way we all play games.
