I'm 13, my bodies started to develope + all that, i haven't started my period yet, i know it's ok for me not to have started but i'm stuck between excitement and a bit of fear about them starting..
I'm looking forwards to my first one because like.. it's like saying i'm finally grown up, a woman.
But then again i'm scared, i'm scared it'll really hurt, and even more scared about telling my family.. and my friends, as they've all started theirs and i haven't. :{
Sometime's i just feel like a loser tbh. :(

As from what I've heard, period starts at abour 14 or 15... so don't worry about that!! Also remember that blood doesn't always mean that hurts :D I don't think it'll hurt
Question : why do you feel like a loser???

Yea, like miguel said, blood doesnt = pain. This blood in paticular is not from a wound, its the lining of your uterus. (Im pretty sure)
Im sure the girls will understand that you havent gotten it yet, although me and my friend sometimes make fun of guys that havent hit puberty yet, we dont mean any of it. I hit it early, but i know that some people hit it late. Just wait, and when you do get it, if your in school..tell a girl you trust, and ask for a pad/tampon to use, i suggest a pad to start off with though. Anyways dont worry, your totally normal, i used to feel like a loser before i hit puberty, i used to look at all these guys with leg hair and mostaches and what not, anyways im rambling again. Oh yea, as for you mum, she will totally understand, i guarantee you that. Good luck

when you start your period, you will know due to abdominal cramps you'll be experiencing. there is no point in telling your friends that your period has started because its something your body gradually does

Okay, hun, I consider you lucky. My period hurts like hell, no worse. ITS AWFUL! I get severe cramps, I get nauseated, I get migranes, you name it. And I understand about you wishing you had yours, but it's not all that exciting. I remember when I was 12, wishing that I had mine, I cried about it, but then I remember when I finally got it. I had to miss out on my first school dance because I could barely move with the major cramps I was having. It was awful, I thought I was dying. So I got my period when I was 12, now that is a little bit early, but my Mom had hers early as well.
One year after your breasts begin developing is when you are supposed to get your period. More factors play in, like when your mother had hers. So ask your Mom when she got hers, and you can judge from that.
Dont be ashamed that you dont have it, and when you get it dont be ashamed to tell your Mother, it's a natural thing and she will probably be very proud and happy - my Mom was, and yes it is a little embarrasing, but you will need her advice and help. And you dont even have to tell your friends anything, it isnt their buisness, so unless you want to share it - dont worry about it!

theres noting to be scared about.
it usualy doeasnt hurt as bad the first time
besides cramping. but advil or aleve helps and also a heating pad.
and actualy youll be surprised that telling your parents isnt going to be as hard as you thought it would be...

its not too bad at all
i got it a few weeks after i turned 13, and i did have pretty bad cramps but nothing too extreme.
i'd compare it to the feeling of sore aching muscles in your lower back and sudden stomach aches that go away quickly, but everyone gets it differently
sports and excersize deffanately clear the pain
and im sure if your friends are really your friends then they deffanatley wont laugh at you
best wishes<3

Im a guy, but as far as i know it does not hurt. And telling your parents, especially your mother, it will be easy because she has been through it before... So dont worry.
