okay I don't know if this is a good debate topic at all...but anyways
There aren't enough women in China, and I think China has 118 males for every 100 females. sons are highly prized over daughters. families can have another child if their first is a girl...a lot of baby girls are killed...
um so what are your thoughts on this?

Well, if you just looka t the sentence 118 male for 100 female, there is no problem with it. It doesn't mean Not enough women in China.
However, the second part; Well they kill baby girls? I thought that was only in ancient era Arabian Peninsular...
It shows that women in China are simply not counted as humans...

Male should be less on the ratio scale. Think of other animals, think apes. Who is higher, male or female in animal colonies? Female of course(polygamy? yes).

This was practiced almost all over the world. I am tired, so let wiki do the talking.

Traditionally Chinese couples, once they get married the female moves in with the males family and has virtually no contact with there mother and father anymore; therefore the mother and father once they get to the stages of elderly they have no one to take care of them since if they have a daughter they can no longer try for any more children as they still have the child cap on the country. This more or less explains why citizens go to such far lengths in order to have male children from late abortions once they find out they're having a girl which causes almost fully matured babies being born dead and is now illegal in the country. To trading girls away on the blackmarket or killing them at birth.

I find it terrible, and in the future, China will have so much more men than women if this keeps up. Males emigrate from China since there aren't a lot of girls; they move to find a spouse in another country. China is going to be heavily affected negatively from this in the future if they don't stop.

In my honest opinion i'm happy with a weaker China in the future, less of a threat.

I agree with this, also there just as many women in the world as men, meaning that although china has more males, other countries have more females. Chinas got more pressing matters to tackle than their male/female ratio

they kill baby girls because parents want sons, not daughters.
edit: and they also do the bound feet thing to girls at a young age and I find that really...ugh. I'm so glad my mom didn't have to go through that

Don't you agree, however, that this will help with their population problems?

Actually that's a big difference.
Changes that seem small have a large impact, especially on a big scale. We live an world were changing the temperature just a few degrees can destroy an ecosystem.

Yes, but next they'll have a no female population problem. :P

But seriously. Simply put, less women = less children. We all know China's experiencing swelling cities and aging infrastructure, maybe there's a silver lining to this entire situation.

I stand (sit) corrected, then.
It looks like that property is housing for higher income Chinese though, maybe that's the reason nobody's buying them.

Maybe, im sure there's some overcrowded slums.
Id love to live in an empty neighborhood though. It would be fun.
I bet the apartments are cheap too.
