I suppose this thread goes here.:)

I'm planning to buy an acoustic guitar before christmas.I looked around and i saw http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0960600232 in a local shop, but this wasn't the price it was like just over 150$,seemed pretty nice but...

What should I be looking at when I pick up a guitar? lol also I can't believe I've never been in a guitar shop before this, it's beautiful in there *.*

I say for 150 bucks, that's a great deal. However, I personally like having a cut away in the body, like this one. Click Here (http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0961006021)

Check if the fret boards are warped, if anythings broken/missing and stuff like that.

Well, I would say look around and go to a music store and pick one out that you "bond" with. But I guess thats more for more experienced guitarists.
So I guess just look for one that you like the look of (as well as good reviews) and also for one thats in you're price range!

My first acoustic was a Washburn D10SCE. About £250 so $350 I'd guess? It's a little over your given price range but you could probably pick one up cheaper second hand or soemthing.

It's got a pickup so it's easy as hell to gig with and they're tough as mules. :)

That's a decent guitar. Bring a good guitar player with you and get their feedback. That will help a lot.

Depends how long you want it to last. For $150 that's a pretty good buy, but keep in mind it will become insufficient as you become a better player, then again, you'll probably want to move on to an electric eventually as well.

Not necessarily. I'm a touring rock musician and do own an electric but never really got into it. We have an electric guitarist in my band to add a bit of oomph but for me it's acoustic all the way. :)
