Anyone take classes? I take MMA, and I love it. It's just something I feel like I should know, it can ALWAYS help.

If you do take classes, what fighting style(s) do you take?

Niiice, I love my style. It's a combination of many fighting styles rolled into one

I do a branch of karate (and for the life of me i can't remember what one :P failure)
Green belt atm. Constantly find myself fighting higher belts though. It's fun.

Self defence and having an activity are why i bother to do it twice a week.

I would love to enter tournaments. In fact, I think I'll ask my sensei if there is anything like that.

i've honestly never taken any classes but i have developed my own more western martial arts its not a sucky as i expected. this one kid was like bragging about being like a black belt in three differnt martial arts and i said you couldn't even take (name excluded) down. he was like of coure i could i could take you down if i wanted. one word... try stared it. its complicated more or less a form of collegic wrestling mixed with certain jabs and pressure points i've tried to teach other people but i csnt because i formed around my biody type and my abiletes so what you could do is learn multiplul martial arts which is not easy to do then modify what is doable in a self defense situation. obeouslys a back flip nose kick isnt very useful but a forward kick to the kidney just might be....

I don't do martial arts, but I do know how to fight/punch and I usually have some sort of pocket/buck knife on me. If anyone tries to attack me, unless they have a weapon, good luck!

Usually having a consealed weapon on you will make the attack immidately 'your fault', even if it wasn't. I'd HIGHLY reccomend not using a weapon other than your body unless you absolutely need to.

I did Kick boxing for about 3-4 years when I was around 10+ so alot of the technique is still fresh in my mind, but now I just gym to help me handle situations.
