There are a few songs from the 80s. These are the best ones I can think of right now...they both have powerful lyrics IMO. The 80s was a time when it was becoming more acceptable to be gay, but there was still a sort of stigma attached to it. I struggle to find modern day songs with lyrics as meaningful as these song lyrics....

"Smalltown Boy" by Bronski Beat ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xuz94ZIPfJk
"Say Hello Wave Goodbye" by Soft Cell ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHTbWtacquk maybe listen to this one without watching the dreadful video :D

And yes, I know this 80s music may not appeal to everyone. :D

Actually disregard this post.

I essentially disagree with the segregation this thread is seemingly trying to promote.

I totally disagree with this thread and its purpose.

Huh, I didn't even read the OP. I disagree with the specific phrasing, I thought this was just for songs about gay issues in their lyrics.

Mm I'm thinking along the same lines, I just didn't read it properly to begin with and disagree with the idea of there being specific artists for gay people (if that's at all the idea trying to be promoted in this thread).

I'm just having a bit of a David moment.
