if you mean their Light of day, day of darkness song/album, its sixty minutes, the whole album in a single song, and.. i think its they're second to best album!.
yeah of course they're alright, but imo they're the best Experimental/Post metal band i've known in my life, anyway still not better than porcupine tree, it seems that Green carnation also use alternative progressive themes in their songs, goes black metal where you dont expect it, and sometimes goes post metal, well i think Alternative means it all :P.

In terms of Post Metal, I'd vote Rosetta, Amenra, As We Draw, and Isis. Green Carnation is like Riverside to me. They're both ok and decent to listen to, but I wouldn't go as far to call them one of my favorite progressive bands.

Yeah! Isis is amazing, as well as Red Sparowes. i like Isis's Oceanic album the most.
do you like Drudkh? this ukranian Tech/extreme progressive metal band, which is really Unknown, but have wonderful songs!

Unexpect uses more Death/black Metal themes, but Drudkh is more into post Progressive. here i got my favorite drudkh song for you:

We all have the Isis Oceanic Album :P. I have heard the 50 minute long song of Green Carnation. Thing is, which Album should I head for first? You know, I prefer instrumental pieces with minimal vocals.

Yeah.. everybody Should have that one i think :P. well thats a 60 mins song, not 50 :D haha. and uh, i think you should definitely listen to their "Light of day, Day of darkness" album, which includes the 60 mins song, actually the whole album is merged into a single song. probably one of the longest albums ever. and Then if you listen to their "The Burden is Mine" Album, which is more experimental prog, and dont miss the album title song, is a bit depressive too.
