How was she "acting up".
Was it any kind of violence?
Even if it was, at five years old nothing like that should happen. Little kids act up all the time, they still don't know right from wrong yet.

It happened in our own country. The kid was saying f-you to the reacher, got in a couple punches to the teachers face, then kicked the teacher in the leg hard.
Then when the cop started to put the cuffs on her the girl went nuts. started screaming, kicking her legs, and banging her head on the desk. It was the only way to calm her down.
The parents are assholes. The went on tv and said they were going to sue and all that bullshit, when there own kid was at fault. The only way to calm her was to cuff her.

i agree the police officer was just following orders. anyway i think the child got out of hand and she couldve hurt other students in the class.

April 24th, 2005, 09:57 AM
So did the teachers. They had to send all of the kids out of the classroom so she didnt bite them or something.

im usually not someone advocating something like that....but I saw the video, and that child was like losing it.... I understand why they handcuffed that little kid..... Plus was she hurt or anything? so yea Idk..
And I think the teachers and the vice principal handled the situation correctly. If it was me, she woulda been knocked out, jk
* i was joking about the last comment, so dont get on my case 4 something I was joking about.

ok now that i get the whole story my oppinion changes. ok maybe the cop shouldnt have physically put handcuffs on her, but instead use those strip ties they have for less serious cases. but in either case, the cop had a right to intervene and if the parents sue for money i hope they get in a car crash and die.
i hate people who sue frivolously for money. fuc,ing gready bastards

She, but ya she should have and she did.

April 24th, 2005, 04:41 PM
I don't think so.
She's a child. She could have been restrained some other way. They could have done something to calm her down. Also, the teacher should have been able to tell she was upset. Teachers nowadays don't pay enough attention, the teacher should of sensed something was wrong and should have been able to stop it before any arresting took place.

The teacher did try to calm her down. The teacher did pay attention? Have you seen any of the tape or are you pulling this out of your ass?
The teacher tryed to calm her down by talking to her. Didnt work. The teacher senced it was going to get bad. She sent all of the class out of the room so they wouldnt get hurt. The kid kept fighting so she went to the principles. Child continued to kick and punch and scream. They had no choise but to call the cops because she was becoming out of control. The girl even fought the cops!! They had to cuff her to keep her under control. Even then whenshe was cuffed she kicked and screamed.
Some children are so out of control they have to. Do you suggest anyother way of restraining her?

If this is the video: http://www.sptimes.com/2005/04/21/Tampabay/Video_caputures_girl_.shtml. Then yes, I still believe that arresting her was unneccesary. Following the child around the room, picking everything up, and saying over and over again "This is not acceptable" doesn't exactly solve anything. That's not going to calm her down. She's just a child--they all have their little 'fits'.
nwshc
April 24th, 2005, 07:37 PM
Well i need apple quick time to run it and i dont want to install it.
That was more than a fit. It was more of an uncontrolable rage.
How would you have handled it?
-Silence
April 24th, 2005, 07:47 PM
Let her get over her "rage". I wouldn't interfere. I agree with taking the children out of the room, but once she's in there alone and starts trashing the place..I would let her, she'll stop when she isn't getting the reaction she thinks she's going to get.
I used to volunteer at this day-care and there was a kid just like her. If he didn't get what he wanted, he went off at anyone and everyone. He would scream at the top of his lungs "fucking bitch" to whoever wasn't doing what he wanted. He was violent to anyone close to him. But as a child, it's not going to hurt a full-grown person. He trashed everything! We would just send all the kids outside, having freetime and everything and then put the kid in this room and just let him completely trash it. And he did. But after a while, he came back to normal, he was the sweetest thing when he was normal. Once he was "him" again, he apologized for everything he said and he cleaned up everything. They let him work through his anger, probably not the best thing, but there wasn't any arresting going on.

arest the cops? Why? They were doing their job. The teachers and even touch the kid to get her to calm down so they called in for some assistence. They wanted the athorities to take care of it so the teachers wouldnt get in trouble. Odviously the cops felt the kid was a danger was a threat to the teachers and a threat to the other children.

Odviously the cops felt the kid was a danger was a threat to the teachers and a threat to the other children. A five year old could to some damage to the other kids. I have been bitten by a 7 year old and it wasnt a good experience. I needed 7 stitches on my hand.

That brings me to one of my crazy stories. One day i stayed home from school. What they do is call and leave a message on your answering machine so your parents get it. Well when they called i kept picking up and hanging up the phone so they couldnt get through. Well at about the 7th time i let it go through. "yes this is blah blah blah at the freetown-lakeville middle school and i am informing you that your son is absent". Well i picked up the fone and said FUCK YOU!! ( i thought they hung up). And i get a call back saying "yes this is the school again, and i hope i didnt here what i thought i herd". Well 30 min later, someone is pounding at the door. It turns out its the cops. He said the school wanted to "check up on me" and that they do this from time to time. I knew he was there for the phone thing. Well it turns out that the school never even tried to call my mom at work and ask her anything. They just went strait for the cops. And my mom was bullshit. At me for doing it and at the school for never calling her. Well to end it, i never got suspended, but got some good stories. :)
