I've always cut like... as anger at myself. And it was a way to let out anger type thing, I just cut in a different way to normal. Depper, but more carefully than normal and i got a totally different feeling from it. The feeling was just... woah. I've never got this from cutting before, i've kinda got it from burning before but never this strong it's just. Idk what to make of it. it felt so amazing. I'm scared i just got myself even more addicted. Anyone else get this?
EDIT: I realised i used to get this feeling from self harm, maybe my pain threshold just got higher?

I get this adrenaline rush when I go deeper than I usually do. It might be that, since pain produces adrenaline. That and when you get accustomed to cutting a certain way, the feeling sometimes fades... like recreational drugs really. You need more of it or a stronger substance to get the same feeling again. That's why I get landed in the ER more often as I self-harm more often/longer, as my pain threshold goes up, I go deeper to replicate the same feeling a little scratch or biting my tongue used to give me.

I'm not cutting as much now as a couple months ago (so my pain threshold is back down to near zero again) but I know when I cut... with purpose? I dunno how to say it, but when I did that, I felt kind of like 'hey, I did that, cool'.. not quite sure that's what I meant to say, or what you're referring to, but maybe?

It wasn't a sense of acheivement or whatever, that's what i usually get. It was more to do with the pain. I thin similar to what Rith said.

Paradise comes at a price that I am not prepared to pay, Matt Bellamy. But the meaning of his lyrics applies here. Any chance to get Muse in a post I will, Anyway going deeper for more pain, you can't do it, unless you want to get into serious trouble with passing out and ending up in hospital. Hopefully you can find it within yourself to try and stop. Now i've never self harmed so can't give too much help but my life has it's troubles as anyone's does but you've got to think positivly. Out of interest why do you self harm in the first place.

You're getting a thrill out of it. A load of people get that, myself included. Its like drugs, the high you get. When you cut, your body releases endorphins to help cope with the pain. The more you get hurt, or in this case, the more you cut, the more endorphins are released, so that's what was happening.

It's long and complicated why I self harmed to start with. Just a mixture of things such as not getting on with my family too well, problems with friends, problems with boys and the fact i've always been messed up in the head. Thanks for your reply.
And thanks for yours too Matt :)

I agree with what Matt and Rith said, it gives you a thrill/ rush, like drugs do.
When I used to cut alot, the pain threshold increases, and I used to push harder and cut deeper to get that feeling back .
I think its probably the rush of adrenaline that gives you that feeling, and the deeper you cut the more that will get released
Hope this helps
