Normal place to self harm?

Would any one say there is a "normal" place to self harm? for example the arms , cause I self harm just about anywhere - i've got cuts all over my face as well

A lot of self-harmers have their own little rituals really. Some prefer to cut on a certain part of their body, and some don't even get the same feeling when they choose a different spot. For instance, I usually cut my legs, all the time, because they're usually hidden by pants or some tights/stockings when I wear a skirt or dress, but I like cutting my arms much more for some reason than my legs, but I like to be able to wear short sleeves so I usually don't if I can resist.

The place most people will look is the arms for self-harm, and more stereotypically the wrists. Then I think it would be legs, then stomach. Though some people like doing their feet, shoulders, hips, fingers. It depends on the person.

I normally do my thigh, or my arms, or my upper arms. Normally on the under side, so you can't see at first glance.

Anyplace that wasn't seen was alright. I did it mostly on my upper left hand and thighs.

I've done it in so many places. My forearm, tops of my arm, thighs, legs, hands and once my stomach. I prefer my arms and i've heard alot of other people say that too. :/

I prefered my arms, no idea why, I just did.

But it was harder to hide, so then I'd do it anywhere that I could hide it; thighs, hips, sometimes stomach.

I prefer my thighs, always have done really, don't know why. I hate doing it on my arms, or anywhere else tbh :P

Hmm I kind of like doing it on my hands. it's a game that way. Making injuries look accidental. And you can admire it at anytime. Wow i sound like a freak.
On the other hand (no pun intended) I can always see the scars there as reminders i self harm which isn't always good.

I carved once. A long time ago. Pretty shallow, so it's faded now, but I carved "stupid" into my thigh. I regret it though.

I hardly ever do my wrists, but it's the only place I still have scars really. I've done my legs, my stomach, hips, thighs, wrists, and upper arm. I've also carved many times too :/

I tried carving, but I did it too deep and it was bleeding everywhere, so I haven't tried since. I like doing it on the thigh now, but I don't want to go too far down.

I have carved HATE into my thigh.
I usually cut on my arms.. or thighs.. I have tried ankle too.
I prefer my arms though.. but there easily seen so normally

i have cut everywhere really, i mainly cut my arms, but have also cut thighs, legs, stomach, hands, and once even my breasts :/ i have also carved, i have had 'fat' on my thigh and stomach, 'stupid' on my thigh, and 'failure' on my arm.

I've never carved anything.
But I normally cut on the underside of my arms, its a bit harder for people to see, or sometimes on the tops of my arms

I'm not a fan of carving since I could never get it the way I wanted it with the razors I use :P And depending on how deep it is, it will be there for a long time/forever. I used to do it when I was younger though, and those are the only scars I actually regret.

I have "fat" on my right shoulder, a crossed-out heart on my left, "fuck-up" on the way inside of my thigh (so I can usually hide it if I have to have that much of me visible, say, when they strip search you in the psych ward), and "too dead to die" on my chest right where the band of my bra would be (I'll really regret that one even more later... it's a lyric in Marilyn Manson's song Coma Black -_- I feel like a bloody emo attention-seeker for it, even if I love their music).

I normally cut on my thighs... I always really have the urge to cut my arms, but I basically only wear short sleeves, so it would be slightly obvious ><
and I have carved words before, but I don't cut that deep, so most of it is faded... most obvious one right now unfortunately says 'help', which just looks pathetic

It gets really addicting and difficult to stop, but it's definitely possible to. I've seen a few people fully recover from it. It's hard, but yes, you can stop.

I have not cut in a month, *yay me* but when I did I cut inside of my ankles, left shoulder and right side of my stomach. I have carved FAT into my stomach but crossed it out. Crossing it out hurt the most. I have also carved a heart.

I usually cut my inner arms, but i also try to cut my upper arms and shoulders and stomach, it's easier to hide those cuts. I tried my legs but their too hairy I ended up just cutting the hair off no matter how hard I tried. I've also carved a girls name in my arm, but thats faded now.

I have carved, could still say it's something I do more than cutting,
over the past few months it's been a lot of things, started with 'I hate me' which progressed to 'Pain' 'Hate' 'Numb' carved into my left foot, and 'Ugly' 'Liar' 'Idiot' in my right, and well, I guess similiar things were done including more recently '8 years'.
I prefer my arms too, but it's so hard to hide.
thighs I more or less feel nothing, but that's where I generally carve.

i usually cut my hips now but it doesnt feel as good as cutting the underside of my arm but i cant hide that...ive nvr carved but ive wanted to...i would if i had more space that i can cut but i can only cut where my swim suit covers....

I like to carve. I've carved love into my left arm, that disappared with mederma two years ago. I have Love and a heart on my hand which is faded for the most part. However gets darkly noticeable in cold and heat. I have a heart on my left cheast, and Alone carved into my right hip. I also have hopeless on my left wrist as well, but that faded for the most part. I cut more than I carve.

A lot of them left scars. I am fortunate mederma took some of them away. The only carved ones that are still there are Alone, the heart on my chest, and the heart on my hand. The h from hopeless is there but light. As far as the cuts go, a lot have faded, however I have unfortunately a lot of permanente scars, that mederma couldn't take away at all. :( However I can cover them up with knee highs, and lots of bracelets, or a sweater.

I normally cut on my upper arms or my thighs. I just think it's easier to hide. Though when I'm depressed, I don't really care. The first time I cut on my thighs it felt odd. I occasionally carve. Not that often, though. I don't like it as much, it isn't as "clean" as cutting. It really sucks to stop once you start. And I just realized, day 3!

I normally cut on my right arm, anywhere. Shoulder, wrist, forearm, outside of my arm... Once or twice on my left arm, but there'sonly like 5 cuts there, it's easier for me to cut my right arm as I'm left handed.
But after I got caught cutting, my mom now checks my arms, stomach, & legs. So I'm stuck with the back of my legs for the most part. I am trying to stop though. But sometimes I just need to, & that's where the back of my legs come in. or my feet.
